Y’all remember the dog that was stuck for 7 days in a ditch in Shreveport? Look at Nory! She has been in an amazing foster home since being saved from the ditch and she is doing great 💜 Look how healthy she looks!

She is getting plenty of lovin’ and TLC — she even got to meet some new humans and snuggled right up to her Foster’s 13 year old granddaughter. Precious!

Help us design our cat room! We need ideas! 💡

The cats & kittens of LaMa are living the good life, but we need ideas to make their space more fun & enriching! We are looking to add some elements to this room that are easy to clean (meaning there is no fabric, twine, porous material of any kind!)

Kurunda towers? Tunnels? Wall shelves to climb? Show me what you’ve got!

The room just got a DEEP scrubbing by our volunteers and we want to give the kitties some activity!

In May 2025, Cinco came to LaMa Rescue and made her way to Massachusetts several weeks later. She was adopted, then returned, then adopted again to a family who saw her potential!

She recently passed her Canine Good Citizen Exam! It’s no easy feat — I know my pups couldn’t do it 😝 Congrats Cinco (now Luna) and thank you Save a Dog for making sure she found her right family.

This difficult test has 10 skills that dogs must excel at to pass:
1. Accepting a friendly stranger and
2. Sitting politely for petting from that stranger
3. Overall appearance and grooming
4. Loose-leash walking
5. Walking calmly through a crowd
6. Sit and stay on cue in a distracting environment
7. Coming when called in a distracting environment
8. Calmly and friendly reacting to another dog
9. Neutral reaction to distraction
10. Supervised separation from handler

Thank you to all who came out to Game Night yesterday evening!💰Many won big and everyone had a good laugh!

Thanks to your support, LaMa raised just over $5,000 for the wayward animals of Webster Parish & beyond.

This week, that will help us:
✅pay our small staff payroll
✅order a weeks worth of dog & cat food
✅reorder bulk order of flea & tick preventative
✅cover vaccines, intake tests, and S/N surgeries for our 6 new intakes
✅restock on cleaning supplies
✅and have $558 leftover to decide how to divvy up among bills, supplies, and balances

This turnout was such a huge blessing, and thank you all for showing up! We had a 💥 blast!

Yesterday 29 dogs & puppies moseyed on to Maine & Massachusetts! I’m (of course!) excited to see all of them head off to greener pastures, but ESPECIALLY Hansel, Gretal, Bobo, Daisy, Savannah, and Bailey. Such wonderful adult dogs who cannot WAIT to have a couch of their own and people who treat them like royalty.

Two things I’ll NEVER understand:
⛓️Having a dog that only lives on a chain with no human interaction. Why even have a dog at all? Just don’t bother.
🏠Moving and LEAVING A DOG BEHIND. Just packing a truck and rolling out.

That’s all I’ve got for the moment. No other thoughts, just stewing over the fact that things like this are way too common around these parts. LaMa to clean up the mess once again!
