Wolfram Wittig – Mr Natural Posted on March 9, 2018 by horsemagazine Story – Chris Hector Photos Roz Neave I always enjoy turning into the drive of Wolfram and Brigitte Wittig’s home, near the German town of Rhaden. The stables are beautifully appointed, but with not a hint of pretension. Ther...

Hi everyone, I just want to let everyone know I’m looking for a working student, as my current assistants Marie and Diane are dealing with increasing family obligations. The working student job entails grooming and getting horses ready for me to either ride or longe, and putting them away afterwards including any graining or reblanketing. Later with more experience, the assistant will longe horses or possibly even ride clients’ horses if needed. I will teach the working student how to longe per USDF guidelines if they do not already know how and give them hands on experience. I pay my working student with free lessons, 1-2 lessons a week on their own horse or a horse they lease, depending on how busy the week is. So their horse needs to be either at Garrods or nearby. Job is weekday mornings, time varying depending on how many horses, but generally starting between 8-8:45, and ending by around 10 on Tues, Thurs. and Fri., with occasional Mondays or Sunday morning if someone is travelling. If you or someone you know is interested, please message me on Facebook (I check my FB page a couple of times per week), or email me at [email protected] for a faster response. I need someone who is above all reliable and conscientious, and able to do this long term rather than just a couple months. Warmly, Martha

Never a dull moment when you're a horse trainer - today we shared the arena with a young duck who missed the path to the pond. Horse was quite concerned - quacking wasn't in his repertoire, and it was very amusing but distracting for me and the rider. Cute little thing tho... she did find her way out with Nelson's help.

And some photos of her. She is TEENY!!!

OK to spread a bit of joy instead of all the recent drama, here is a wee little mini horse baby born the other day at Cerro Vista, where I'm teaching clinics again. This little poppet is about 18 inches at most, and that is a dog blanket on her that is STILL too big.
