Expecting a foal this spring? 🐴

Protect your newborn from rotavirus by vaccinating your pregnant mare at 8, 9, and 10 months of gestation.

Rotavirus is one of the most common causes of diarrhea in young foals and spreads easily on farms. Vaccinating your pregnant mare boosts the antibodies in her colostrum, giving your foal protection from day one.

Not sure where your mare is in her schedule? Give us a call and we’ll help you get her caught up.

Equine chiropractic care has become increasingly common in the performance horse world, but it also comes with plenty of questions.

Can chiropractic adjustments improve performance? When are they appropriate? And how do they fit into a complete veterinary treatment plan?

According to Dr. Tresha Robinson, DVM, chiropractic care is best viewed as one piece of the puzzle, but not the entire picture.

Many horses show subtle signs of discomfort long before obvious lameness develops. Difficulty with lead changes, resistance to bending, shortened stride length, reluctance to engage the hind end, or a decline in collection can all indicate that something is affecting the horse's movement. Behavioral changes such as pinned ears, tail swishing, bolting, or sensitivity during grooming and saddling may also signal discomfort.
