Our mission is to grow food, community, and connection, and to educate about the natural world right here on our conserved farm in the heart of Saratoga Springs 🌱 💚 Pitney Meadows Community Farm was founded in 2016 to preserve the last operating farm in Saratoga Springs, and to forge a new mission for the 166-acre property in sustainable farming, education in agriculture, and the training of young

farmers. We're off to a fast start with the construction of our 55-bed Community Gardens and a 6,000-square foot high tunnel that serves both as an event space and greenhouse for growing vegetables. Major priorities going forward include the establishment of our Children's Garden and Greenhouse, renovation of existing farm buildings, and the development of trails along Geyser Creek for education and recreation.

🌱 Our next “Friends in the Fields” walk is coming up on Saturday, September 12th! Become a part of our recurring giving community, “Friends of the Farm,” and join us for a special morning on the land. The link to become a “Friend of the Farm” is in our bio!

💚 Earlier this season, we welcomed our “Friends of the Farm” to the fields for our inaugural Friends in the Fields walk. It was such a special morning to spend time on the land together, learn more about the work happening across the farm, and connect with the people who help make it all possible.

🌱Now, we’re getting ready for our late-summer “Friends in the Fields” walk! “Friends of the Farm” are invited to join us for refreshments from Saratoga Sundry, a guided walk through the production fields and greenhouses with Farm Director Stephen, a look at our Food for All programs with Assistant Farm Manager, Food for All Programs, Daniel, and a visit to the Community Gardens with Garden Programs & Stewardship Manager, Melissa.

💚 Not a Friend of the Farm yet? Join our recurring giving community, and you’ll be invited to Friends in the Fields! It’s a chance to see your support in action, meet the people behind the work, and spend time in the place you’re helping to sustain.

🌱Because we can count on you, the community we serve can count on us. Become a “Friend of the Farm” today!

🌱 8 kids. 1 Farm Director. 0 predictable answers.

🌱 Farm Director Stephen sat down with Natalie, Tobin, Addie, Cayden, Parker, Christopher, and Lucy for some very important farm conversations…

🌱 Inspired by Recess Therapy and This Is a Gardening Show, we gave the kids the microphone and let them take it from there.

💚 Huge thanks to our brilliant, hilarious kid interviewees for playing along and sharing their wonderfully unfiltered thoughts, and to their parents for saying yes and helping us bring this little idea to life. We couldn’t have made it without you!

🌱 Volunteer Spotlight: Mike! If there’s a helping hand to be lent at Pitney Meadows, chances are Mike is there!

💚 Mike is one of our weekly Food as Medicine delivery drivers, helping make sure fresh, nourishing food gets where it needs to go. But his contributions don’t stop there. You’ll also find him out in the fields planting and harvesting, in the wash/pack lending a hand, and pretty much anywhere else there’s work to be done!

🌱 Mike is always looking for a way to help and is always happy to jump in when asked. He brings energy, enthusiasm, and a great sense of humor to every task… and you really can’t beat his combination of friendly chatter and quality contributions to just about anything and everything we’re working on.

💚 We are incredibly grateful for Mike, and for the generosity he brings to the farm week after week. He doesn’t just give us his time… he gives us his energy, his enthusiasm, his good humor, and his willingness to simply pitch in and get to work. Whether he’s making deliveries, harvesting vegetables, washing produce, or tackling whatever task is in front of him, Mike makes a meaningful difference every time.

🌱 Thank you, Mike, for showing up, jumping in, and always being ready to lend a hand… and a heart. Your generosity and joyful spirit mean so much to our team, our programs, and our community. We truly couldn’t do all that we do without volunteers like you, and we’re so grateful!

💚 A quiet place to sit. A place to pause. A place to take in the Farm. At Pitney Meadows, we spend a lot of time thinking about what we can do here… grow food, teach, gather, volunteer, explore, celebrate, and connect. But there is another important purpose for a place like this: simply having somewhere to be.

🌿 Interested in dedicating a bench (and maybe a tree to go with it?) Learn more about our Bench & Tree Dedication Program: https://www.pitneymeadowscommunityfarm.org/dedicate-a-bench

🌾 Some of the most meaningful moments at the Farm don’t require a program or an activity. They happen when you sit on a bench, maybe beneath a tree, and watch the fields move in the breeze. When you stop along the trail to listen to the birds. When you take a few quiet minutes to watch the Farm at work. Or when you just sit and do nothing at all.

🌱 That’s part of the vision behind our Bench & Tree Dedication Program. Through the program, we’ve been adding handcrafted cedar benches and trees throughout the Farm, creating more opportunities for visitors to rest, reflect, enjoy the landscape, and take a break along our trails.

🪵 And we couldn’t do it without our longtime partners at Saratoga Joinery. From the very beginning, Saratoga Joinery has helped bring this vision to life. Their members have thoughtfully handcrafted our benches right here in Saratoga Springs in their community woodworking space, using real wood joinery and traditional woodworking techniques. We’re so grateful to the Saratoga Joinery team for sharing their craftsmanship and for helping us create places where our community can slow down, sit awhile, and enjoy the Farm.

🌾 A handcrafted cedar bench can be dedicated in honor or memory of someone special, to celebrate a milestone, or simply to show your love for Pitney Meadows. Your dedication helps us create more welcoming and accessible spaces throughout the Farm while supporting the work that happens here every day… from growing and sharing food to education, stewardship, recreation, and community connection.

🍅 At Pitney Meadows, we believe access to fresh, whole food is essential, not just for health, but for dignity and opportunity. Our Food for All program connects local agriculture to hunger relief and healthcare, reaching thousands of individuals each month. From pantry distribution to clinically designed Food as Medicine programs, we provide fresh, intentionally grown food, never leftovers, while expanding access, supporting regional farmers, and honoring the dignity of every participant.

đź’š We believe that "food for all" is not just a vision but an action plan and a collective commitment. Join us in this endeavor as we nurture communities, foster opportunity, and cultivate a future where everyone has access to nutritious, locally sourced food.
