As temperatures rise, it’s important to remember that our pets feel the heat too! ☀️🐾 Today on National Heat Awareness Day, take a moment to help keep your furry family members safe and cool.

🔥 Hot weather tips for pets:
💧 Always provide fresh, cool water
🌳 Limit outdoor activity during peak heat hours
🐶 Walk pets early in the morning or later in the evening
🚗 Never leave pets in a parked car — even for a minute
🐾 Check pavement temperatures before walks to protect sensitive paws
❄️ Watch for signs of overheating: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse

Some pets, especially flat-faced breeds, seniors, overweight pets, and pets with medical conditions, are at even greater risk for heat-related illness.

If you think your pet may be overheating, move them to a cool area and contact your veterinarian immediately. Stay safe, stay hydrated, and give your pets some extra shade and snuggles today! 💙🐕🐈

As we honor and remember those who served, let’s also keep our furry family members safe during the holiday weekend ❤️💙

🐶 Memorial Day Pet Safety Checklist:
🌭 Keep BBQ foods away from pets (especially bones, onions, grapes & desserts!)
🔥 Never leave pets unattended near grills or fire pits
🎆 Fireworks can be scary — keep pets indoors in a quiet, secure area
💧 Make sure pets stay hydrated in the Florida heat
🪪 Double-check collars & ID tags before gatherings or travel
☀️ Avoid hot pavement — if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for paws!
