Cats are masters at a lot of things… Finding the warmest spot in the house. Knowing exactly when you need them. Making themselves fit into a box that is very obviously too small. Looking at you like they have seen things you will never understand. 😂
And unfortunately, they are also masters at masking pain. Especially as they age, the little changes matter.
Drinking a little more.
Eating a little differently.
Losing weight.
Sleeping somewhere new.
Jumping less.
Grooming habits not happening.
Using the litter box differently.
Just seeming a little… off.
Those little things are often the exact things that lead us to the bigger answer.
Sometimes it’s hyperthyroidism. Sometimes diabetes. Sometimes kidney disease, arthritis, dental pain, or something else entirely.
Cats are basically magical little creatures with a very inconvenient talent for making illness look invisible.
That’s why I will always say this: you know your pet. You know their routines. Their little habits. Their favorite spot. Their normal. So when something feels different, even if it seems small, pay attention to it.
Because the little things? They can tell us a whole lot.
