Building Community Through Connection 🐾

At Cat Depot, we believe there’s a special connection between cats and mental well-being. The comfort, companionship, and joy animals bring can create meaningful moments of connection — and we love finding ways to share that with our community.

Since September, we’ve been excited to welcome members from both the North and South Sarasota locations of YANA Sarasota, a program of NAMI Central Suncoast - Formerly Sarasota and Manatee Counties. YANA provides a welcoming, peer-led space where adults can connect, build community, and support their personal wellness journeys.

During their visits, members have enjoyed VIP tours, quality time with our cats, and a hands-on cat wand-making activity! They even got to see their creations put to the test as our kitties tried out their new enrichment toys. 🐱

We love bringing people and cats together in ways that encourage creativity, connection, and a little extra happiness for everyone involved.

With visits in both September and October, we’re so grateful for this growing partnership and are already looking forward to welcoming YANA members back in November for another opportunity to connect with our cats and community. 💙

Merry is ready for a promotion from office cat to beloved family member! 💻

At just 11 months old, this sweet girl has been keeping us company around the office, but she’s ready to find a place to call her own. Merry may be a little shy and timid when you first meet her, but give her a little time and patience, and you’ll discover a loyal, loving companion waiting to blossom.

Now she’s hoping her next big adventure involves a cozy home, a family to love, and a person she can call her very own. Could you be the one to give Merry her happily ever after? 🐾

Meet Jack 🐾❤️ A senior kitty with a heart full of love and a story of starting over.

At 10 years old, Jack knows what it means to lose someone. After his beloved owner passed away, Jack lost the person he knew as home. Through no fault of his own, he found himself without a place to belong before eventually making his way to Cat Depot.

Now, this sweet boy is learning to navigate a whole new world.

Jack may be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly, and once he feels safe, his loving personality shines. He's a lap cat, a gentle companion, and one of our beloved office cats who reminds us just how special the bond between a cat and their person can be.

He's been through more change than any kitty should have to endure, but underneath that grief is a heart still ready to love. 🤍

Jack isn't looking for anything extravagant. Just a calm, quiet home, a little patience while he settles in, and someone who will let him be their person, too.

At 10 years old, Jack deserves to know that he's home for good. Could you be the one who gives this sweet senior his fresh start? 🏡🐱

🐾 Adopt Jack. Let his next chapter be his happiest one yet: catdepot.org/adopt

Remember Freya and Maxine? Their next chapter is waiting. 🐾❤️

On September 10, we shared the story of Freya and Maxine, two frightened girls who spent nearly 12 hours waiting outside Cat Depot in a cardboard box and at our doorstep. They arrived scared, unsure of what came next, but they were finally somewhere safe.

Thanks to the kindness of our community and the support of our Cat Depot Rescue Fund, both girls received the medical care, attention and compassion they deserved. And now, their story has a beautiful new chapter: Freya and Maxine are ready to find their forever home together! 🏡

At 8 years old, Freya is a sweet, loving companion who is ready to share her affection with her special someone. Maxine, 7, has plenty to say and will happily keep you company with her friendly chatter. These two are bonded, meaning they must be adopted together. After everything they've been through, they'll get to start their next chapter side by side. 🐈

To everyone who donated to the Rescue Fund, shared their story or cheered these girls on, thank you. Your generosity helped make their journey from a frightening night outside our doors to the safety and care they needed possible.

Now, all that's missing is a family to call their own.

Could you be the happy ending Freya and Maxine have been waiting for? ❤️
