Y’all have asked over the years and we finally have a scale available to weigh your pups, up to 200lbs! Stop by the spaw anytime we are open (Monday, Friday and Saturday) to weigh your pup so you can keep track of their health. We are also happy to notate this during each grooming if this is important to you 💜💜

One of my favorite gifts in this life is coexisting with dogs. Studying reiki has only enhanced my gift of just being in the moment with them. And maybe a chance for us both to heal💜🙏🏻

Ayum and her brother Puushu came in for a reiki session today. They are allowed to be themselves and I observe while they are at my holistic spaw, and ask for observations after at home.

They mostly played with toys and each other, but Ayum chose to come over and show affection and happiness. She sat in front of me and yawned. Then she laid on my lap and next to my lap and yawned again.

Most notably she went home and was very excited to greet her daddy. But immediately settled instead of needing to go out and run or release another way. Reiki settled her today 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💜

🎉🐾 We have another sponsor to celebrate!! 🐾🎉
A HUGE thank you to Muddy Paws Mobile Grooming for sponsoring Tails of Sonoma County! ❤️
Having local businesses support this project means so much. Their sponsorship helps cover the costs of bringing the book to life, which means even more of what we raise can go to Dogwood Animal Rescue Project and the animals they say yes to every single day.
And if your pup could use a little pampering, be sure to check out Muddy Paws! Cathy offers personalized grooming with a gentle, low-stress approach—and she has a special place in her heart for rescue dogs, seniors, and dogs who need a little extra patience. 🐶❤️
Thank you, Muddy Paws, for believing in this project. We are so happy to have you be part of Tails of Sonoma County! ❤️🐾

Your mom wanted to give me a heads up that today might be our last grooming day together. How can it already be 14 years we have known each other? Every 6 weeks for 14 years I’ve had the honor of being your groomer. There were many times I almost fired you because you were being “cooper”. But together we learned, grew patient and found a way you enjoyed.

When I showed up today, I wasn’t sure if you’d be feeling up for a grooming based on what your mom said.. But I pulled up to you barking and rearing to get into my van! And you couldn’t get enough treats, even though I thought you stopped eating?

You enjoyed every second of me cleaning your eye boogers and the warm water washing over your skinny body. You slept for most of your fluff dry (first pic). And then when mom texted she was ready for you, I said you know he looks really happy and is about to fall asleep… but instead of sleep you sat there and stared at me so sweetly while I groomed your brother😭

Your sweet eyes (second pic) still shine so bright, and I wasn’t filled with sadness today. But instead hope and a feeling that today wasn’t goodbye. That you still have time to share your light with your family, and even me 🫶🏻🙏🏻❤️
