If you do, refer to the flyer for instructions on how to best approach him. Let’s get this beardie home safe and sound!

Introducing NEKO. 🩷

𝐁𝐈𝐎: Neko is a senior lady at 17 years old! She is well-loved by her cat dad who makes sure she is as comfortable as can be, including the use of a soft citrusy cone to keep her from over-grooming. Arthritis and early signs of kidney disease are part of her daily experience as a senior lady, but her dad makes sure she has heating pads, medicine, and specific food to bring her relief.

Even though she is sweet and playful on the daily, Neko has a history of hissing and batting at new people who enter her home — but only when people get too close, invade her space, or feel fear near her. She is an intuitive lady, so Fear Free care was a necessity. That is why her dad chose AllCompanion.

𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄: Prior to visits, Neko’s dad scheduled bonding sessions to ensure all parties were comfortable and prepared. I visit with Neko once a week to maintain a regular presence in her life and develop a routine that works for the two of us.

The bonding sessions started with a behavior assessment and a quiet, distant, unexciting first visit. From there, we’ve gradually worked towards me speaking and laughing normally, sitting near her, and dishing out her food. Rather than showing her initial disinterest, Neko now watches her toys in a way that lets me know she will likely play by the time actual visits come around. Not only that, but she has started loafing up and slowly blinking near me!

Her dad did a wonderful job with advocating for Neko and setting all of us up for success when it comes time for him to travel. If Neko reminds you of your companion, AllCompanion might be the right choice for your family too.

📍 Ferndell > West Observatory Loop Trail
Length: 2.6 mi | Elevation Gain: 613 ft

From a lush shaded canyon to the dry chaparral of the Santa Monica Mountains, this trail is a classic. The panoramic views of the city are unparalleled, including a clear view of the Hollywood Sign, downtown, distant mountains, and the ocean.

This dog-friendly trails provided ample space for dogs and their guardians to step to the side as needed. It is essential that all dogs remain on leash and have water made available to them throughout this hike, and breaks in the shade are recommended.

The other week I was introduced to a local celebrity: Cookie! ⭐️ She was the star of the show and caught eyes of passerby near the Santa Monica pier. Her and her guardian put on a show for residents and tourists alike to enjoy, just as they offer to do for events. Check them out for a unique source of entertainment for your next event!
