Why adopt a senior animal? They may be your perfect fit 🧩 Besides the laid back, "been there, sniffed that" attitude, they still enjoy play, just without the mischief of puppies and kitties 🃏 Older animals are often overlooked in shelter settings. Even though our seniors Soldat and Chevy both went to loving homes this year, they stayed in our care longer than anyone wanted 🥺 This month's Shelter Ink artist Amanda Payne has THREE senior animals in her care, Kuma (15) and Toby (14) among them. To raise awareness for elderly animals in need, Amanda has offered to give ONE FREE TATTOO to a lucky senior lover. Swipe right to see the approved flash!

By no fault of her own, or her temporary mama's, Lana is back in the Shelter 💔 Life can happen out of our control. As the last cool mornings of Springtime melt into sunny Summer afternoons, Kyle takes Allegra for a walk 🌱 An outdoorsman originally from Idaho, Kyle is able to easily identify the plants that grow on our trails 🥔 When he's not making sure our facilities are working properly or helping our animals become more adoptable through gentle training, you can find him absolutely cooking behind a drum kit 🥁 His companion Allegra is a true Shelter gem: she walks well on a leash, she's well-mannered, and once she gets to know you, she's infectiously joyful 💎 If you aren't ready to adopt, consider fostering Allegra! You can keep her for an afternoon, for up to two weeks, or for the rest of your lives...

Super Fosters James and Amanda were featured in The Santa Fe New Mexican two weeks ago, but Augie Doggie is still in need of a forever home. Meet Emily and Radley 💞 Emily joined our Animal Care team one and a half years ago. She is originally from Guatemala, loves soccer, and has great taste in sneakers ⚽ Radly came to us as a stray. He's affable, non-reactive, and a quick learner. His good looks speak for themselves 👀 Why not pay us a visit at 100 Caja del Rio this weekend? We've got humans who love animals, and animals who need homes. Do with that what you will.
