Jolene wakes up for a midday snack every day. She is such a good eater. She eats anything given to her.

Francesca is eating and we are hopeful for a full recovery.

These raccoons play with and move that teddy bear all around their release spot. We support released raccoons, opossums, and skunks with food and water stations to supplement their diet as they transition to life in the wild. During the summer there are plenty of snakes and bugs to eat. We keep a feeder going most of the time during cooler months to help support them. If you have any opened bags of dog food you don’t need or want to donate a bag of dogfood for our released animals they will really appreciate it as the weather changes. Fruits, vegetables, and seeds, and nuts are also appreciated. Thank you! Gate drop off in Santa Fe or porch drop off in Texas City or League City. ♥️

Some of our local friends at our release property. There is no hunting stress on this property. We left them a mineral block to get ready for colder weather. We also left a little corn. Corn is not the healthiest but just a little for a treat.

This bunny came in after the finder found it in his yard in distress. He went out to pick it up and a hawk swooped down and tried to grab it. The hawk took some fur but not the bunny. Bunny has recovered and his release was a happy day as bunnies are notoriously difficult to keep alive in rehab but he did it! 🙏❤️‍🩹

This is Francesca. Her finders, Colin and Sheila, found her in the Memorial area and got her to us. We’ll do our best.

Krystal and Brandon saved an opossum and got him into our rehab a few weeks ago. When they found an abandoned raccoon by a busy freeway they did it again! Thank you both for being wildlife heroes!

Evan and Calvin Steele are opossum heroes in our eyes. They found this young opossum early this morning and brought her in for possible dog bites. The young female opossum presented with serious flea anemia and several dog puncture wounds. As always, we will do our very best. The Steele’s plan to send in a name for this little lady soon. Fingers crossed for this sweet girl.

Lisa Detrio saved this young opossum overnight. It was injured in the road near her house and someone tried to run over it but she stopped them. She named the opossum Jolene. Jolene has some circling behavior and an injury on her side that looks like a bite. Jolene has a lot of s***k and has started with treatment on her side injuries. She has a way to go. She is only alive now because of Lisa! Thank you for saving this beautiful young opossum Lisa. ♥️

Poor girl. Pressure sore from dragging a foot. Head injuries can make them lose the ability to keep legs in proper position to walk. We are practicing every day. She’ll get better.
