I really want to take a moment to give a very, very big thank you to my farrier. Lupe, you have been such an important part of this whole journey and such a huge help to me and to the horses.

The way you work with horses is something really special. The way you can put even the most difficult horses on a trailer, the way you work with wild Mustangs and their enormous hooves, and the patience and understanding you have with every horse is incredible.
You have helped me so much through this entire move. You coached me through loading the horses, helped me get them safely into the trailers, and supported me through the whole process of bringing them to their new home.And I really believe that your help is a big part of why the horses have adjusted so beautifully here.

I have learned so much from you. You have a way of seeing things that I don’t always see, and I am so grateful for your knowledge, your experience, your honesty, and the way you always want what is best for the horses.

I feel very lucky that our paths crossed and that you are part of this journey with us.Thank you for everything you have done for me and for my horses.You truly are one of the best, and you deserve a very big thank you.

This is a dream come true. I have always wanted to live alongside my horses, sharing the same air, the same water, and the same space. To be connected with them 24 hours a day, even when I am sleeping, is something truly special.
There is also a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. I feel lighter, freer, and excited about what is possible. When you board your horses at a facility, there are always rules to follow, spaces to share, and limitations to respect. While I am grateful for the places that have cared for us, there is a certain freedom that comes with having a space of our own. Ideas that once felt restricted can now unfold naturally.
What excites me most is the sense of possibility. I am curious about what will come next, the collaborations that will grow, and the people this land will bring into our lives. I can already feel it happening. Talented young people, neighbors, and beautiful connections are finding their way here.
For now, my role is simply to hold the space, be present with my horses, and let things unfold. I am moving into a new way of living, one with less control and less forcing, and more trust, patience, and openness.
There is so much wisdom in nature, in the land, and in the horses. Sometimes the most beautiful things happen when we stop trying to make them happen and allow life to show us the way.
I am so excited for this new chapter and everything that is yet to come❤️❤️

What a journey it has been.
From our time at Coast Road Stables to this moment, so much has happened. I feel incredibly grateful for everything that place has given us, and for all the people who have been part of our journey.
And now, here we are. A dream I have carried for so long is finally becoming a reality. Having my horses come home to a place where we can share the same space, breathe the same air, drink the same water, and be together every day is something that fills me with so much excitement.
There is something so special about knowing that even when I am sleeping, we are sharing this space and remaining connected in our own way.
This is more than a move. It is the beginning of a whole new chapter, one I have dreamed about for years. I cannot wait to see what unfolds, what we learn together, and what this new life will bring!

Sometimes, we want to walk away from the uncomfortable conversations. We want to avoid the things that bring up our fears and insecurities. But true connection asks us to stay.
So, every day, I will continue working with Valiene and Gals. When I receive the invitation, I will ride. Not from a place of control or force, but from listening, responding, and allowing the relationship to unfold.
At the same time, I don’t want to use their fears as a reason to avoid moving forward. I have my own fears to work through, just as they are navigating the uncertainty of having someone on their backs whom they don’t yet fully know.
In many ways, we are both learning to trust the unknown.
I am so happy because it is getting better and better. It is about consistency, showing up, and continuing to build trust.
And before I know it, I will be riding.

There is something Chulita is teaching me that I feel is important to share.

Horses do not want to control us, and they do not want to be controlled. When there is a true connection between horse and human, there is much less need for control.

The difficult part is that when we are not sure our connection is strong enough, fear comes in. We become afraid that we might lose the horse, that they might leave us, or that something might happen if we let go of control. So we try to manage, direct, and control the horse in order to feel safe.

I know this because I lived it with Chulita.
For many years, I was afraid she would take off when I rode her. Because of that fear, control became part of our relationship. I was always trying to make sure I could control what she did.

To change that relationship, I first had to change myself.
Before I could ride Chulita this way, without a bridle, we needed to spend a long time getting to know each other again. I needed to rebuild her trust in me and undo many years of the relationship we had created around control.
It took nine months of simply sharing territory before Chulita began the conversation with me.

I was willing to wait as long as it took.

I made a promise to her that I would not control her. That I would wait. That I would listen. And that I would learn from her.

When we approach horses this way, we are not simply teaching them something. We are allowing them to teach us.

Chulita is one of my biggest teachers.
Now, when we ride together at the walk and trot without a bridle, what you see is not the absence of Now, when we ride together at the walk and trot without a bridle, what you see is not the absence of communication. It is the result of a relationship that has been built through patience, trust, listening, and choice. 

The freedom comes from the connection.

And that is what Chulita continues to teach me.

The most meaningful part of my work is watching someone truly see a horse as an individual. In that moment, everything changes. The relationship moves beyond control and expectations and becomes a connection based on mutual understanding. I believe every horse deserves to be seen, heard, and respected, and I feel grateful to share that journey with others.

🌱In this video, you can still see some tension in Valiente’s body. And to me, that means we are not quite ready to ride.
I want the invitation to come from him naturally — when his body is soft, his mind is present, and there is no feeling of resistance.
So I’m going to keep listening, keep building trust, and keep showing you the process.

In my work with horses, I have come to find that horses respond to clarity, and clarity only comes when we stop forcing and start allowing. The moment we push, brace, or insist, something closes, and we create even more resistance. When we soften, something opens.
Horses are incredibly sensitive to energy. They can feel even the slightest shift. By simply observing them, how they interact with one another, how they resolve conflict without holding onto it, and how they naturally return to harmony, we begin to remember something essential within ourselves.
