The littlest pets we keep still deserve big efforts into providing quality care! As jumping spiders have grown in popularity, it’s become common to see them in big box stores. While we are glad the world is seemingly healing from arachnophobia and learning the value of incredible little spiders, we also have concern for their welfare.

Jumping spiders, like any pet, require clean, well appointed habitats that suit their needs and fulfill their instincts. This little guy loves his piece of royal pillow moss, a bed fit for a king.

Look alive!

Our moss products are made with real moss that’s been dehydrated. It looks alive becuse it’s the real stuff!

Another benefit is that dehydrated moss is a perfect sponge for moisture, which can help with maintaining ambient humidity requirements with regular misting.

One thing is certain- the hobby has changed a lot for the better in the last 10 years, even the last five when it comes to raising the standard of care.

It’s great to see creators and other large names holding breeders accountable for welfare. It’s even better to see them actively educating, providing open dialogue and offering resources to other hobbyists who want to learn!

The bare minimum is not enough. Your pet reptile may be able to survive in a smaller habitat, with a single plastic hide and a water bowl. They may be able to get by without UVB or thermal gradients, but as hobbyists we should not be striving for survival. If you are stewards of a live animal, you should strive to exceed minimum requirements so that your pet can THRIVE!

Trying to make a habitat for your snake that looks natural and feels impressive? It just needs more MOSS 🔔

You’d be surprised what a moss hide, or a few sheets or pillows of lush green moss can do for the overall look of your reptile tank. But looks are just a bonus- since our moss products are made from 100% real dehydrated moss, you get humidifying benefits as well if desired simply by soaking or misting them. As winter approaches, this can be a great way to maintain humidity as your home heat dries the air.
