And another good day at gohja! Kimber led us off in the schooling hunters; she came out incredibly relaxed and finished champion out of a great group of horses. Judge and Liz finished 1,2 in the open pleasure classes, and 2,3,3 in the baby greens. Erin and Ezra finished with two 3rds in the pleasure, 2,3 in the open eq and 2,2,3 in the modified hunters. Kate and Lego had multiple 4ths in the beginner hunters, but won their eq round to finish reserve champion in the division. Emily showed Ghost for the first time in the 2’6”; they had a great first round to finish 3rd. Second round he got strong; she got tired…so homework! And Jacqui came back today and really practiced her flat work between the jumps and it paid off with two smooth, beautiful rounds in the child/adult jumpers (she was the only one, so the winner 🤷‍♀️)

Great!(but exhausting) day at gohja today with the team. Liz and Natalie will definitely require caffeine to get through tomorrow🤣. Kimber started us off in the 3’3”, but she a bit too feral so we came back in the 2’6” to remind her of proper pacing; it paid off with a 2nd in their final round out of a large group. The Lindbloom sisters went next in the short stirrups, with Gianna and her new pony, Booya having a fantastic showing and ending champion and reserve. Camilla and winter also put in more solid rounds and even won a hunter o/f and 2nd in the eq round. Then Kate and Lego won their first championship here in the beginner hunters, and Beth and judge finished right behind for reserve champion. With Liz, judge won a pleasure class and finished champion in the baby greens. Erin and Ezra did their 2nd show together, and their first over fences rounds; finishing reserve champion in the open eq,3rds in the pleasure and 4ths in the modifieds. We finished with the jumpers; Oscar was feeling 200%, but Jacqui is at 50% with a torn acl…so while their jumps were beautiful, she struggled in getting him to turn on time. They still managed to pull off reserve champion in the child/adult jumpers. Liz and Ghost were the only participants in the open 3’ jumpers, so they won both rounds 🤷‍♀️🙈🤣 But, looking forward to another great tomorrow!!

It’s been overall a great week in Venice for us, with a couple bumps yesterday that were fixed today:) Marin and Happy have been leading us off the past two days with two wins in the .60m jumpers, and a 2,4 in the .70’s. But more importantly, they’re jumping around the .70’s finally with no issues! Danielle and Mary finished the USHJA hunters yesterday with a reserve champion; then started today’s low adult division with a 1,2,2:). Jen and Simon have had a solid week, yesterday placing 3rd behind two Grand Prix riders in the open 1m; today finishing 3rd in the .95 classic. Lily and saki struggled in the ring yesterday, but a couple changes along with starting in the .70’s to build the mares confidence paid off. They ended with a 2nd in the .70’s,4th in the .80’s, and then clear in the .9 classic with a rider gps failure at the final jump in the jump off, but they finished to pull off a 7th placed ribbon in their first time out in that height together (also only their 2nd show as a team!). And Nicole and Kandy came back after a hiatus, and were a bit rusty yesterday in the big ring. But this morning they came back to put in a stellar round in the open 1m for the win, and almost had a super round in the 1.10 but Kandy questioned the combination on the end. So back to homework to come out even stronger the next time!💪 Proud of my group and their great sportsmanship and horsemanship they’ve shown all week! One more day to finish our week off tomorrow in Venice ❤️

Another weekend, another show; this time brought us to canter down at Silversands. We had 3 baby horses participating for the first time; Gianna’s pony, Bellaboo couldn’t have been any better for her walk trot and xrails classes. G later showed Mowgli in their first 2’3” classes together, as well and finished reserve champion, as well as 3rd in both eq challenge classes. Erin and Ezra showed their first classes together In the pleasure division. Frosty and Liz did their first show together, as well, and he was quiet…boisterous lol. Cam and winter put in some great rounds between the short stirrups and open schooling hunters, finishing with a reserve champion. Lily and her pony, Paris competed in a handful of flat classes, culminating in a 2nd in the eq challenge $ class! Marin and happy came to practice in hunter classes what we’ve been working on at home, and it paid off! She finished champion in the 2’3”, 2nd in the eq o/f challenge and 5th in the flat challenge.

This past wknd took us to GOHJA; we started the day with our jumpers. Jacqui and Oscar started off with a solid round, but a miscommunication in the second round had her leaving the saddle unexpectedly(but she’s ok!); they did finish with a first round win and reserve champion in the child/adult jumpers. Liz showed Ghost in the level 0’s for their first outing; he was solid and consistent to finish 4th of 11 in both rounds. Kim and Ivy shipped in to try their first jumper classes of their career; Ivy showed her greenness in the first round with a couple refusals, but they stepped back in to put in a confident second round and finish 6th out of a big group. Over to the hunters, our favorite ‘flying potato’ had a good day, ending in the ribbons every class of the beginner hunters out of 12 with his mom, Beth; he also won a baby green round to finish reserve champion with Liz in the irons. Kate and Lego had a solid showing in the beginner hunter and eq divisions, finishing with a 2nd,4ths and 6th. Kimber finished off our show day in the schooling hunters, winning a round and finishing champion in the division, as well.
Onto CDF this weekend with a few babies first time out!
