This week brought us back to WEC; the girls all enjoyed their time together before many of them go back to school or off to college. We’ll have a short break; with a schooling show mid Sept; starting the last week of September we’ll be back to showing just about every week for over a month🙈😁🫶

Emily and Ghost competed in their first classic of their career together; finishing double clear and 8th place in the .85m classic❤️

It took some of the horses a few days to settle into the big stadium ring at Tryon, but everyone finished confidently by the weekend. The biggest disappointment was Beth and judge’s classes were all cancelled on sat afternoon due to the weather, so they only were able to show Sunday morning together. They came home with a ribbon in every class but one (he may have kool-aid manned a xrail in their first round🙈🤣). Simon and Ghost were the most intimidated by the ring initially, but Sunday Jen and Simon had two good rounds to finish with good ribbons in the 1m classic and power and speed. Ghost and Emily stepped into the .90’s for their first time together, finishing 4,7 on sun and 2nd on Sunday! Riley and moe struggled to find their pace early in the week for such a large track, but they put together a very solid classic round to finish 4th in the 1m. Lily and saki had an amazing start to their week, finishing clear in all their rounds and even did their first 1m round together, but Saturday she came out uncomfortable and told us when it came to the combinations. So she was given lots of extra body care; stepped down to the .90’s on Sunday and finished with a great ride from lily to rebuild confidence. And kimber and lila had the most expansive experience of their career, spread out over the entire week. They finished with good ribbons Fri in the large juniors, sat Kimber started off trying to hurry up and get it over with (not the old Kimber style of that, thankfully 🤣) but finished with a solid classic round and a 6th place in the combined hunter classic. Friday they did their first national derby together, and Sunday they played in the jumper stadium ring for a single round for a change of scenery. It was a great show to get her exposed to as many new places/rings as possible with the goal of amateur hunter finals next year:)

Lots of clear blue ribbon rounds; division classes start tomorrow for the jumpers. Kimber and judge earned ribbons in their ushja hunters yesterday; Kimber finished 4,5 in the large junior hunters today, after finishing their first national derby round together in a huge, grass field. They had a blast!
