Congratulations to Jessa and the Howell family on their new, jumper mare, Luna! She had her first lesson on her this morning and learned a lot in a short period of time. And she made me laugh at how demanding she is on the ground already, and they’ve only known each other since Sunday afternoon 🤣

Week 2 of 5 in a row is in the books! This past weekend was Hsitp at grand oaks; somehow we managed to avoid the worst of the storms that hit central Florida this wknd. And the show had great numbers!! Most divisions had 15+ entries; it was great to experience. Saturday everyone was really good; Sunday we were tired and made mistakes, but still had some great finshes. Jessa and Boeing came back after over a year off to finish reserve champion in the high children’s Hunter Sunday, plus ribbons in every low children’s hunters sat and the derby and classic rounds. Tess and Oliver had their first show together since her injury at the start of this year; it was like they hadn’t missed a beat! They won four .70m rounds across both days and a champion. Marin showed both Saki (first time!) and Happy this weekend. Sat she and happy did the easy 2’ jumpers and finished champion; sun they played in the .70 rounds and finished in the ribbons twice. Saki went home with a couple ribbons, too but we are mostly just learning how to ride her as she is the antithesis of Happy. Erin and Ezra showed sat only; their first time together in the 2’6” as well! They went home with a couple ribbons in great company against the pros. Liz and Ghost played in the .80 and .85 classes and went home with some good ribbons; Emily came Sunday and rode a .85 round and pinned as well! Jen and Simon came for extra practice, too as he’s been having some confidence issues in the show ring. They won a couple classes and finished reserve champion in the .90’s. Back to canter down this wknd!

Finally having a slow moment to post! We made a shorter (than normal) visit to WEC last week with a small group of jumpers. Riley and moe finished 1,2 for champion in the open meter division. Liz and Simon earned a 5th in the first .95m of the week, but he had a harder time as each day went on so we’re looking to take a step back and figure out how to help him succeed at his job. And Nicole and Kandy shipped in Friday for their first show back since early summer; they had super confident rounds to finish with a 4th,5th. Onto grand oaks this weekend!

The girls had a great time this weekend for canter down, despite the weathers best attempt to thwart Saturday afternoon. The Lindbloom girls practiced their model class, Camilla and winter had lots of practice in the 2’ divisions, and Gianna and baby Bella had lots of practice in the 18” divisions. Both girls went home with lots of 1sts,2nds and tricolors. Cam also finished 3rd in a huge eq flat challenge class against the ‘big’ girls! Maya and Rufus came back after almost a year off; they were in great form and went home with a few champions. Marin and happy shipped in both days just before their 2’3” division; he was a good boy for her and did his job without question (sometimes an issue!) and finished reserve in the hunters (they’re actually jumpers lol) and 2nd in the medal challenge. Lily showed Red Bull for the first time in a handful of flat classes each day, ending with a clean sweep of the pleasure sat, 1st open schooling, 7th in the eq flat challenge sat, then won both their hunter u/s classes and the eq flat on Sunday. Jessa showed 3 very different horses over the wknd, finishing champion on her pony in the green xrails sat, winning the big eq flat challenge on her young wb, boeing Saturday; coming back with her mom’s tb, Elmo on sun and finishing reserve champion in the schooling hunters. Great job girls! Next up is WEC next week; Oct brings 4 weeks straight of showing as well!
