⚠️ URGENT AMAZON DELIVERY SAFETY CONCERN — THREE DOGS REPORTEDLY DIED
I am asking everyone—especially dog owners, parents, and Amazon customers—to please read and share this.
A devastating incident was recently reported in my community involving an Amazon delivery. An Amazon package containing rat poison was reportedly thrown over a residential fence into a yard where dogs were present.
The dogs got into the package and ingested the contents.
I understand that all three dogs died.
Think about that for a moment.
A delivery driver generally has no way of knowing everything inside a sealed package. Amazon delivers rat poison, pesticides, medications, cleaning chemicals and many other products that can be extremely dangerous to animals—and to children.
A package that looks harmless from the outside can contain something deadly.
And this raises an even bigger question:
WHAT IF A CHILD HAD FOUND THAT PACKAGE?
This is why I am contacting Amazon's Executive Customer Relations and Amazon Logistics leadership and asking for a nationwide policy change.
My request is simple:
Amazon delivery personnel should NEVER throw, toss or place a package over a residential fence or locked gate unless the customer has specifically authorized that location for delivery.
If a driver cannot safely access the designated delivery location, there should be another safe-delivery procedure.
This isn't about attacking one driver.
It's about preventing the next tragedy.
Amazon already has safety procedures for deliveries and even has systems designed to warn delivery personnel when dogs may be present at a property. Adding a clear “DO NOT THROW PACKAGES OVER FENCES” policy could protect pets, children, customers and delivery personnel.
Three dogs reportedly lost their lives. We should not have to wait until this happens again—or until a child is seriously injured—to change a preventable delivery practice.
I have formally asked Amazon for an executive-level review and a written response regarding whether it will implement this policy nationwide.
I will share Amazon's response when I receive one.
PLEASE SHARE THIS POST.
If enough Amazon customers speak up, perhaps one family's heartbreaking loss can lead to a change that protects thousands of other families and their pets.
