Zoomies Funny Farm Zoomies Funny Farm is a 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on animal welfare initiatives. Welcome to Zoomies! We're so glad you're here. We want to help!

Please let us introduce ourselves. Founded in October 2023, Zoomies Funny Farm was established to help address the growing need for local animal rescue, foster, and adoption. Specifically, Zoomies is focused on the fostering aspect. We aim to lessen the burden on other shelters and rescues by providing a safe and (mostly) temporary alternative to animal surrender. We are aware of a number of issues that can lead to even the most well loved and well cared for animals to end up in shelters. Transient homelessness brought about by natural disasters, victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse seeking refuge from their abusers, military training and deployment, and even owners undergoing surgery or other long term treatments for medical issues- all of these things can make caring for a family pet an infeasible hardship. We want to lessen the struggle and to provide those faced with such challenges a different path. By offering these animals a place to stay while their humans navigate some of life’s difficulties, we not only prevent further overcrowding at the shelters, but hopefully, we can offer their families some hope and peace of mind by knowing their pet will be loved and well cared for until they are ready to be reunited. Additionally, Zoomies plans to provide a more permanent home for a few current shelter animals who because of their temperament or complex medical and behavioral needs would otherwise be deemed unadoptable. Long term care of these animals in a sanctuary based setting such as Zoomies Farm will offer them the best quality of life, and the constant hands-on approach to monitoring, training, and rehabilitating these animals will help keep them happy and safe.

Sharing this to thank our friend, Dr. Garrett, from Animal Hospital of Fayetteville who originally donated a bunch of expired/nearly expired preventatives with us- exactly for this purpose. It’s so nice to see it make a difference.

It’s been a minute since we did a shout out for our friends at Fort Wagg. ;) but can we just use a moment now to re-acknowledge how amazing they are?!?

Not only do they have everything you could need for most of your small household pets, but they also have the kindest and most helpful staff to help you navigate your options.

They host regular adoption events for local animal rescue groups, and they’ve donated thousands of dollars worth of goods- food, crates, collars, and leashes- to us and others animal rescue and welfare groups.

We’re all so lucky to have these types of businesses (and business owners) in our community.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again- Thank you Fort Wagg for all of your love and support!

In other news- we’re happy to report that 4 of our 20 sponsored canine spay and neuters have been completed by DEGA Mobile Veterinary Care.

And some of these surgeries weren’t even mobile! They have a new brick and mortar building that allows them to provide expanded access of care- especially for those who are unhoused or experiencing some level of financial instability that would otherwise prevent necessary care.

Thank you, Dr. April and team for your commitment to helping those most in need. We’re proud to be able to partner with you to do more good!

Woohoo!

Yesterday was our 2nd Jason Heigl Foundation Namaste day! 🙂

Through their generous funding, and the hard work and dedication of the staff at the Sandhills Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic SNVC, Zoomies Funny Farm was able to provide free spay and neuter surgeries to 40 more owned pets!

Even our friends at Chick-fil-A got involved. 😉 The kind team at the Southern Pines location donated box lunches for the whole crew to help power us through the day!

Below are some of the photos from our event.

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to everyone who continues to help make our dreams a reality. Thank you so much to everyone who constantly supports and encourages us. We love you all.

Friends!

We have such great news to share.

🥰 We were recently selected to receive a grant from the Petrie Foundation! 🥰

We were awarded $5,000 to help cover spay and neuter expenses associated with our programs.

We couldn’t be more grateful for our continued ability to generate funds and help increase access for affordable vet care in our community.

As of today we’ve helped nearly 500 animals this year alone! And approximately 1,200 since we launched our spay and neuter (on June 11th 2024!)

Of course, we don’t do this alone. We’ve had many great foundations that have supported us over the last two years and we are so grateful to add the Petrie Foundation to our list of generous supporters!

Thank you so, so much to the Margo T. Petrie Foundation for allowing us to be the trusted stewards of this gift. We can’t wait to share it with those who need it most.

Home The mission of the Margo T. Petrie Spaying and Neutering Foundation is to support long-term solutions to pet overpopulation and reduce the number of dogs and cats euthanized annually, thereby improving the lives of companion animals in North Carolina.
