Tonight’s post is an appreciation post, and it goes out to Tom! ❤️

You may see and talk to Kay a lot more on social media, but behind the scenes, Tom is the muscle, the cook, the cleaner, the maintenance man, the problem solver, and the guy who keeps this whole operation moving forward.

There truly isn’t much around here that he doesn’t do. He’s cleaning, feeding, cooking, exercising animals, fixing things, keeping up with the property, hauling, mowing, tackling projects, removing more p**p than anyone should ever have to 😂, and handling all of those little things that most people never even see. And lately, with our good friend working alongside him, the two of them have become an absolute FORCE. 💪

But on top of ALL of that, Tom is a full-time, hands-on dad. ❤️

Not every dad gets the opportunity to be this involved in their kids’ everyday lives, and he doesn’t take that for granted. He makes it a point to include them in what he’s doing, teach them, let them help, and make memories with them even when their version of “helping” makes the job twice as long and ten times crazier. 😂

He keeps the gears moving around here sometimes quite literally. He’s the one we count on when something breaks, when something needs built, when everyone needs fed, when there’s work to be done, and when the chaos is at an all-time high.

He wears about a hundred different hats and somehow keeps showing up and getting it done.He is truly our everything, and so much of what happens here simply wouldn’t happen without him.

So tonight, we just want to give some love and appreciation to the man behind so much of what you see. We appreciate you more than you know, and we are incredibly thankful for everything you do for this family, the dogs, and this magical place. ❤️

We’ve been lucky enough in this life to build more than a business. We’ve been given the opportunity to create a community around what we do, and that has become one of the most special parts of Lake Erie Dogs.

Just last week, someone brought us old towels they no longer needed, another gave us pools for the dogs, and another shared tons of beef from a cow they had butchered.

It’s not really about the towels, pools, or beef. It’s about having people who think of us, support us, and want to see us succeed and being able to be those same people for them.

Community is special. These are our people, our tribe, and we couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of it. ❤️

Saw another trainer say, “we train more for I’m so glad we brought them less for they would have loved this” and that really stuck with us. We love being able to include the dogs so seamlessly when we can because we can! Good relationships and clear communication makes it possible… and easy! Go into this weekend with that thought in mind, bring the dog!!!
