I’m not being dramatic when I say this changed EVERYTHING for my training.

This is the first TWC course I ever took, & what eventually led me to do the entire certification.

1 day a week with only 15 minutes, he's catching on quickly.

And because I know people are wondering, no I didn't "condition" the ecollar. It's not necessary & the dog can still learn clearly.

Food does not build a relationship.

If that were the case I should be friends with every waiter or waitress who has ever brought me a meal.

We build lifelong friendships with people, but I'm pretty sure no one is developing friendships by constantly giving each other cookies...

No, we meet someone in kindergarten & we both like doing a certain thing, so we do it together and we have a great time. 20 years later, we're still doing things together because we genuinely enjoy each other's company.

So if you think that treat pouch on your hip means you have something real with your dog....you are incorrect🙅🏼‍♀️ you're actually just a vending machine with legs.

Apache plays hard, it’s his favorite thing.

But none of the other volunteers can play with him because he won’t drop the toy (and gets a little growly when you reach for it, which can freak some people out)

We’re teaching him probably the most important skill he needs which is an ‘out’

Don’t sleep on private lessons!

This was Archie’s final private lesson - & this is what showing up for your dog looks like.

Private lessons work. You learn alongside your dog, you build the relationship, & the results stick because YOU put in the work together.

Chezney & Archie are now able to swim at the lake & hike off leash (without covering his eyes anymore when he sees another dog😂)
