A major key in fixing reactivity is getting your dog INTERACTING with other dogs.

Safely of course, and with a plan. DO NOT just go up to a random dog and let them say hi.

Yes its scary, yes its nerve wracking. But that's where hiring a professional is the best investment, because on the other side of the extreme blow ups, is usually a dog that actually CAN learn to be normal.

Its super weird how I get a lot of opinions from people who have never met the dogs I work with, yet zero questions to better understand why I'm doing the things I do.🤷🏼‍♀️

Nevil is one of the most social dogs I’ve ever met, so I was definitely not expecting him to not like Moose.

Maybe getting hit in the face with a hard ass muzzle is what left a bad impression 🤷🏼‍♀️ to be fair I wouldn’t blame him if that were the case.

Either way Moose handled it like a champ! He fits the bill for other bully breeds I’ve worked with that I use the term “aggressively curious”

Part 2 of helping Moose the anti social baby hippo.

The root cause of this behavior? Moose spent the first 9 months of his life in a kennel 10-12 hours a day everyday, he was never around other dogs during a critical developmental age. His current owners didn't do that, they adopted him & have had to deal with the repercussions of his first owner.

So let this be your sign, get your dog INTERACTING with other dogs at an early age. Not ignoring, not "neutrality" training, not pretending other dogs don't exist. Show them how to make friends.

Taking our time, but setting some very clear boundaries about what is unacceptable behavior around another dog.

Look at this stud doing his first ever bite work session!

He's been going stir crazy in the shelter because THIS is what he is meant to do.

So happy to bring this side of them out, we might just have to F around and start doing mondio together 🤷🏼‍♀️
