IT’S FINALLY FRIDAY 🎉

🦘💬 THE REALITY OF RESCUE AND FARM LIFE 💬🦘

You see the cuddles.
You see the photos.
You see the otters holding hands and think, “Wow, what a dream job!”
And you’re right…
It IS a dream.
But dreams don’t come with days off.

No snow days.
No heat index excuses.
No PTO.
No “I’m sick, I can’t.”
No “let’s just stay in today.”
No sleeping in or going to bed early.

🌧️ Pouring rain? We’re out feeding.
❄️ Blizzard? We’re breaking ice in water bowls.
🥵 Heat advisory? We’re hauling frozen treats and misting down enclosures.
🤧 Feeling under the weather? Too bad—the animals still need meds, meals, and love.
🩺Plans? Wrong! Someone needs vet attention…
😳 Feeling accomplished and in a groove and BAM you get a call that an animal needs help and needs sanctuary…so you load up the trailer and now you have another mouth to feed in your routine.

This life is 24/7.
No matter the weather.
No matter the mood.
No matter what’s going on in our world… because their world depends on us.

We chose this.
We wanted this.
❤️And we wouldn’t change it for anything❤️

Walking out to the barn only to discover a new batch of baby bunnies, a litter of puppies, a new lamb or kid in the pasture is a joy that can’t be matched.

The early morning nuzzles from the horses, the kangaroos grazing your leg with the softest fur, the chitters of the capybaras while you clean the stalls…priceless…

If you’ve ever wondered why we haven’t answered a message yet, or why we look a little extra tired in our videos… now you know.

It has come to our attention that many of you arrive at Niagara Downunder expecting us to be doing something exciting.

Running.
Jumping.
Performing tricks.

We regret to inform you that we are capybaras.

Our daily schedule is as follows:

☀️ Wake up
🥬 Eat snacks
😌 Sit peacefully
🥬 Eat more snacks
💤 Take a nap
🥬 Consider additional snacks
😌 Continue being unbothered by absolutely everything

Honestly, it’s exhausting.

People often ask what our secret is to staying so calm. The answer is simple:

✨ Mind your business.
✨ Take more naps.
✨ Spend time with friends.
✨ Never rush if a leisurely stroll will do.

Life is short. The lettuce is fresh. The sun is warm. There is no reason to panic.

Apparently everyone is losing their minds over the baby goats.

The baby goats this.
The baby goats that.
“Look how cute they are!”
“Look how tiny they are!”
“Look at them hopping around!”

RUDE.

As Head Kangaroo, Chief Security Officer, and Most Handsome Marsupial at Niagara Downunder, I would like to remind everyone that we now have a BABY KANGAROO.

That’s right.

A tiny little joey who is currently being called Prince. 👑

And while the goats are out there causing chaos, eating things they shouldn’t, and pretending they invented being adorable… Prince is quietly perfecting the fine art of kangaroo greatness.

He’s got the tiny ears.
He’s got the tiny feet.
He’s got the tiny hops.

Soon he’ll have the tiny attitude, too.

Honestly, I think he’s already practicing.

So while everyone is busy watching the baby goats bounce around like caffeinated marshmallows, don’t forget to stop by and admire the future King of Downunder.

The goats may be having their moment…

The sun is shining, the grass is growing, and it seems like every time we turn around there’s another tiny hoof bouncing through the pasture.

Spring has officially arrived at Niagara Downunder, and our newest little farm residents are keeping us busy with zoomies, mischief, and an endless supply of cuteness. 💚🐐

Not every perfect day involves sunshine.

Sometimes the best days are the quiet ones—the kind where you roll up your sleeves, clean a stall, refresh water buckets, organize supplies, or spend a little extra time making special snacks for the animals you love.

Today feels like one of those days.

Yeah, yeah—I’m usually all sass and snacks, but today I’m getting real with you.

You see, Niagara Downunder isn’t just a place for otter antics and capybara cuddles (though, obviously, we rock at that). It’s also where the big-hearted humans step in to make a real difference.

💚 We rescue animals who’ve had a rough go.
🌿 We protect the wild places we all call home.
🎗️ We work with amazing community groups to support kids fighting tough battles—and help bring a little light, love, and laughter.

And every time you hang with us—whether you’re playing peek-a-boo with a tortoise, feeding a wallaby, or just laughing at the goat drama—you’re part of it.

So yeah, I’m a red kangaroo with jokes for days…
But I’m also proud to be part of something that matters.
