Thankfully this heat wave is almost over and we can get the dogs back to being dogs…outside! In the meantime, grab your leashes + don’t be afraid to walk inside. Something is better than nothing!

Happy National Dog Day to the lil’ one that made me a foster fail. I love this dog with every little bit of my heart + I’m so happy she brings that joy to so many others, too. Dogs don’t have Instagram, so she can’t read this, but I’ll make sure she gets an extra stinky fish treat tonight! Love you forever, Poppy girl 💕

There can be a lot of excuses when it comes to being a dog owner - but a dog doesn’t know how to come up with an excuse, and they don’t understand yours. Owning a dog is a commitment. Every day might look different, and sometimes it really is in your dog’s best interest to keep them inside due to weather - but save those days for when you NEED them! Today’s heat got me up earlier than usual to make sure my dog got a walk - and it also helped me get creative with some new games for her. This play session was some of the most fun I have had with Poppy, and it used her brain in new ways! How are you making the most it this heatwave?

Happy to be back supporting dogs in rescue - please reach out to me or Del Mar Dog Rescue if you have any questions about Wendy! I have been working with her almost daily for the past week and she is truly a special dog.
