2026 San Marcos Trails Day at Discovery Lake Park with Friends of San Marcos Parks & Recreation. We enjoyed a lot of visitors at the Twin Oaks Valley Equestrian booth and were able to share trail etiquette (Whoa - Stop and Say Hello!) and the Save-The-Date for our Horse Heritage Festival on 10/18/26.

Join our group of Equestrians at the Ridgeline Trail Head for the Annual Trails Day event!!

Join us at Trails Day on Saturday, June 6, for a guided hike, ride, or walk as we explore the beauty of San Marcos’ parks and trails.

Choose your adventure:
🚶‍♂️ Take on the 5-mile Double Peak hike (1,000+ ft elevation!)
🚴 Enjoy a scenic 5-mile bike ride around Discovery Trails & South Lake
🌿 Enjoy a relaxing 1-mile interpretive walk and learn about native plants
🐎 Equestrian riders can also saddle up for a 6-mile trot along Ridgeline Trail

📍 Main meet-up: Lakeview Park, 650 Foxhall Dr.
🐴 Equestrian meet-up: Ridgeline Trailhead (across from Double Peak Elementary), 102 San Elijo Rd.

🕣 EVENT SCHEDULE AT LAKEVIEW PARK
• 8:30 a.m. – Sign-in & booths open
• 9:00 a.m. – Welcome
• 9:30 a.m. – Hike begins
• 9:35 a.m. – Bike ride rolls out
• 9:40 a.m. – Interpretive walk begins

Congrats to Robin Bond and Matt French!! Locals on the World Stage!!!

USA Working Equitation is extremely proud to announce the 2026 International Team members selected to represent the USA at the World Association for Working Equitation (WAWE) World Championship this fall in Spain!

The USAWE Board of Directors met last night and, in a closed session, voted to approve the International Team Selection Committee’s recommendations for the 2026 team. The board's vote in favor was a strong majority.

Please join us in congratulating the following USAWE High Performance riders (in alphabetical order) for being named to the team!

Yesterday a community of Equestrians gathered to reflect on the impact of two wonderful horses that touched countless hearts through the Poway Valley Vaulting program. It was an honor to listen to the stories and witness the positive impact that this program has had on so many people. Thank you Bonnie Bruce and Sara Nicholson-Lacayo for sharing the wonderful world of Vaulting with our community 💝

We just keep remembering how much fun was had at the 19th Annual Horse Heritage Festival and Ride & Stride. Thank you, California Horsetrader, for sharing your pictures of the event with all readers. Our 20th anniversary festival will be next year on October 18th, 2026. Mark your calendars!
