Spring Cleaning Pet Safety Tips

Keep Hazardous Products Out of Reach:
Products like ammonia, bleach, or alkaline can cause skin and eye irritation, vomiting, diarrhea, and sometimes respiratory issues.

Wash Pet Bedding:
Blankets, beds, and towels can harbor bacteria, allergens, and even fleas! Vacuum your pet’s bed and wash any removable cover.

Clean Safely:
Keep your pet in a separate room while you clean, and ensure your home is well ventilated. If you think your pet has been exposed to chemicals, contact your veterinarian immediately.

Toss the Toys:
Toys can harbor bacteria, fungi, and yeast. Wash the toys thoroughly and replace them regularly.

Check Your Windows:
Before opening your windows to let fresh air into your home, ensure the screens are secure. This will keep your pets safely inside and keep unwanted pests like mosquitoes outside!
