The developer behind the K9Rally app is back with its successor: Ringside Rally for AKC.

For those of you who knew and loved the K9Rally app, this is the same wonderful thing, now with a couple of extra features. The free version still does everything the K9Rally app did. You can browse every AKC Rally sign, build your own list of favorite signs, watch the AKC videos, and look up the handbook right there in the app. There are no advertisements, and it stays free! It has also been brought fully up to date with AKC’s newest sign descriptions and Regulations, which the old app no longer keeps up with.

One of the new additions is a Practice mode. It reads your signs aloud to you, so you can keep your eyes on your dog instead of on your phone. No cones to set out, no course to build, and you can practice on your own, whenever it suits you! That part is in the paid version, which is $16 a year.

It’s now available on both the iOS App Store and Google Play, and will work on both phones and tablets.

I'm teaching a Novice/Advanced RISS (Rally in Small Spaces) class beginning Thursday at 7pm PST for Town & Country Town and Country Dog Training Club, Inc.. It will be a small course in an 8x10 area in my home. There is also a Bonus Sign each week that will be an Excellent or Master sign. There will be a specific request each week for the Bonus sign. This week it is to do the sign with a platform, then keeping your dog under control, remove the platform and do it again without the platform. It's gonna be fun! Videos of each course are included.

My new book, RISS (Rally In Small Spaces) is at the Printer!! I've been working on this book since I began teaching Virtual Rally Classes in January!

Rally for Small Spaces is a way to work on your Rally skills in a small area, like a room in your home, with tables/chairs pushed aside, in your garage, on your deck, in a large hallway, or in your yard or driveway. I'm working in an 8x10 area in my videos. The first several lessons are done in both an 8x10 area and a 10x28 garage.

The important thing is you’re being given tools to help make it possible to do Rally courses in your small space. It’s important for you to understand how each exercise works. If a length is shortened to accommodate the space allowed, you will still be able to do it in a larger space.

Here are some different scenarios in my new book, Rally In Small Spaces, of F8s that judges can use. I’ve put in a sign before entering and after leaving to give you an idea of the previous sign to the F8 and the next sign after the F8.
The Black dotted line is the most direct route to take to easily get to the next sign. The first time across the center is the same as the third time across the center.

Town and Country Dog Training Club, Inc. is offering another session of AKC Rally in Small Spaces. Different signs each week from all Classes. I'm teaching this class using an 8x10 area with video and picture of each weekly class course. Here's the picture for Week 1 beginning on Thursday. I just lay signs on the floor to make maneuvering easier for dog and handler. So students are also learning how to set up a course. Due to the Small Spaces, signs are closer together. Some students are able to use larger areas. You are getting 5-7 new signs each week. Everyone does an individual walk through and two run-throughs with your dog with feedback & discussion. Class is on Thursdays at 7pm PST. Class is limited to 5 dogs.
It's all about the Journey!

I'll be teaching a virtual "Rally for Small Spaces" class beginning next week, 7pm PST for all levels. Modifications made for Novice dogs. Works great in a garage and will fit in an 8x10 room. Usually 8 signs each week with lots of feedback. Work on Walk-Throughs, and at least 2 turns with your dog. Easy to have two of your dogs take a spot while at home! One hour class, limited to 5 dogs. Understanding Platforms and Pivot bowls would be helpful. $100.
