We started Legendary Corals in 2013, focusing on aquaculturing high end and rare corals. Over 70% of our corals are propagated to 2nd or 3rd generations before being offered, making their odds of surviving in a home aquarium much higher as opposed to purchasing wild corals. Offering aquacultured corals keeps the hobby sustainable, allowing the industry to maintain a large variety of corals without

heavily relying on the ocean. A description and care sheet for each coral is available on our site, allowing you to understand the requirements needed to keep them thriving. We want you to be in this hobby for the long run, and purchasing healthy corals from the start is one of the most important steps.

Some hammer garden inspo for your reef. 🔨

There’s really nothing quite like it. One of my favorite things about branching hammers is that you can basically mix and match every color variety to create one massive colony.

It’s easily the best way to get this much contrast in one spot without having to worry about them stinging each other. Watching them all sway together in the flow is just mesmerizing.

For a long time, Blastomussa Merlettis were the “reliable but plain” cousins to the flashier B. wellsi. We all loved them for their ease of care and unique polyp size, but their color palette was pretty much limited to one color combo: the classic purple and green.

Seeing the variety we have access to now—reds, pinks, fuschias, and electric blues—is a testament to how incredible this hobby is. A diver finds a new morph, and the community steps in to lovingly aquaculture it until it becomes a new hobby staple.

They are still one of my favorite picks for a nano reef because watching those tiny polyps encrust a plug is so rewarding. Hopefully, the color list keeps growing. Maybe an orange skirt or a teal one? The ocean is vast, and the discovery of new varieties never seems to end—which is exactly why so many of us are still hooked on this hobby.

A few more angles of the LC Jinx Chalice. I’m honestly obsessed with this color combo—that hot pink rim against the baby blue is something you just don’t see on other chalices.

We only have a few frags of this one ready to go, so hopefully they find some good homes with collectors who appreciate the contrast as much as we do.
