Another week, another group of Haven residents who have officially graduated to their forever homes! This week, there are a handful of adoptions that are especially close to our hearts.
🐾Sandy Love came to Haven after her human tragically passed away. She arrived with her brother, Buddy Love, and the two had spent all 11 years of their lives together with their person. After 61 days at Haven, Sandy finally found her new family. It's never easy to say goodbye to the life you knew, but we are so happy she gets a wonderful new chapter for her golden years. Her brother, Buddy, is still waiting for his forever home.
🐾Mavis was one of our longest-resident cats, spending 146 days in our cattery. During playgroups, I'd often find her lounging happily on the cat tree by the window, watching the world go by. She had the perfect spot to keep an eye on everything happening at Haven. We know she will find just as perfect a spot to watch the neighborhood in her new home.
🐾Princess was a dog who won over our hearts the second she arrived at Haven. We all wanted her health routine because this 10 year old didn't look a day over 3. Her family didn't have time for her anymore, and arriving at the shelter was really frightening for this sweet girl. She almost immediately caught a cold that she struggled to kick even with our vets keeping an eye on her. We were all worried and kept her up front in reception to keep a close eye on her and give her a break from all the noise and chaos of the kennels. Thankfully, Princess only had to wait 35 days for someone to see the wonderful dog underneath the fear 💜
🐾Bella was another shy girl who spent 156 days at Haven waiting for her forever family. When she first arrived, she was so shy she never made a sound, but once she decided you were one of her people, a whole different dog emerged. She was hilarious, demanded attention from her favorite humans, and was one of the few dogs who was so potty trained that she'd let us know when she needed to go outside.
These four all had very different journeys to Haven and needed different things to thrive with us on their way to their forever home. Individuals like these remind us why we keep showing up for them even on the hardest days.
Also finding their forever homes this week were:
🐈Sir Francis, Twix, Chamich, Odie, Slim Shady, Dona Meowria, and Ian
🐕Ferny and Beau the Xth
Congratulations to everyone who found the perfect addition to their families! Thank you for seeing these animals for both who they are and who they will be once they settle into their new lives.
