Pet Food Express Presidio, 850 Marina Blvd., San Francisco, 11am-2pm

California Adopt-a-Pet Day is Saturday, June 7. Muttville is joining 150+ shelters across the Golden State for one huge goal: find loving homes for 5,000 pets. All adoptions will be free that day!

There'll be two locations on Saturday for you to meet some of our available mutts. Muttville HQ will be open for adoptions from 11am-4pm, and we'll be taking a few pups with us to the Pet Food Express Presidio grand opening celebration from 11am-2pm. If you can't make it in person, we're always open for virtual adoptions — just fill out an adoption questionnaire to get started.

We Love Dogs!

My husband, Hoa, and I have been dog owners for 20+ years. We currently have a 19yo Pomeranian, Pepe, who we've had since birth.

We also foster dogs with Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, so we usually have another senior dog (besides Pepe) in the house. We've taken in dogs with special needs such as old age, incontinence, blindness, arthritis, etc. We've even taken in a couple fospice dogs who just needed care through their last days. Our dog(s) have had medicinal needs (oral medications and eye drops) so we understand how to tend to those needs in other dogs. Our dogs get along well with other dogs and we all share in the rewarding experience of giving other dogs a quiet and safe space to stay.

Our dog sitting started with an adopter of one of our foster dogs. She liked how we had cared for the foster dog that she adopted. When she needed to take a trip out of state she called and asked if we could care for her dog while she was away- and that's how our relationship with Rover.com started! You can see the dogs we’ve hosted on Instagram: @castropupsinn.

We live in a full floor flat located on the ground level of our building in a pleasant part of the city with minimal car traffic on our streets. Our back "yard" is a wooded enclosed deck just two short flights down. The neighborhood is quiet and dog-friendly where our neighbors watch out for one another and our four-legged family members.
