We’re all feeling the loss of Dolly Parton, and rightly so. Since I was a kid, she was my real-life Barbie. I remember the first time I saw her on Designing Women—my mom was watching, and I was hooked, bombarding her with questions about this dazzling woman. In a world where celebrities, billionaires, and politicians often disappoint, Dolly was a beacon of inspiration. Her kindness to people and animals was palpable, and love seemed to just spill out of her. Her voice and music have been a comforting presence in my life since childhood, and I still strive to capture even a hint of her boundless love for humanity, though I often miss the mark. It’s tough in today’s world! From the stories I’ve read and watched recently, it seems she lived with gratitude. In her memory, I’ll keep doing the same. We’re truly thankful for what we get to do. Spending time with dogs, especially on a gorgeous day like today, feels almost dreamlike. We love you, Dolly 🦋
