Happy National Dog Day. The feed belongs to your dogs today, so show us yours.

Tag us in a photo and we'll feature the ones that make us smile most. Seniors, puppies, and the ones who hate the camera, we want to see them all!

One note before the month closes: Clear the Shelters runs through August 31 if adopting has been on your mind.

"GI stasis" gets used like a diagnosis. It's a description, not an explanation.

A rabbit who stops eating could have dental disease, a metabolic problem, or pain coming from somewhere else. Naming it too early can mean missing the actual cause.

Bring them in and let us work out why.

If your rabbit needs an exam give us a call: 415-727-9116

Planning a Presidio walk this month?

Two stretches are closed to dogs until early October so coyote parents can raise their pups in peace: Park Trail from Mountain Lake to the Presidio Promenade, and the Bay Area Ridge Trail from Rob Hill Campground to the golf course.

On every other trail, keep your dog on a short leash and close to you. Leash contact is what prevents the chase, and the chase is what sends dogs to us with puncture wounds or worse.

Hiking season questions, or due for a vaccine check before your next trip? Call us at (415) 727-9116.

Foxtail season is at its worst right now. These little grass seeds burrow into fur and skin fast, so a quick once-over after every walk saves a lot of trouble.

Notice head-shaking, pawing, or a spot they won't leave alone? Give us a call and we'll take a look.

⭐ Patient of the Week: Jimmie ⭐

Jimmie came to us for a procedure, and he could not have been better about it. Calm on the table, calm on the way out, and unbothered by the whole crowd of us who came over to admire him. He did a great job, and he's home recovering well.

A lot of exotic pet owners tell us they didn't know where to take their reptile when something came up. You don't have to drive across the Bay. Our team sees bearded dragons, birds, rabbits, ferrets, and other exotic pets right here.

Have an exotic pet who's due for a checkup? Call us at 415-727-9116 to book an exam or email us at [email protected].

Rabbits are prey animals, so they're wired to hide illness. That's what makes a yearly wellness exam worth it: our team can check teeth, weight, and gut health before your bunny ever looks "off" at home.

Chauncey and Chevelle came in for exactly that, plus their RHDV2 vaccine. RHDV2 is a highly contagious virus with very high fatality rates in rabbits, and vaccination is the strongest protection available.

Have a rabbit at home? Call to schedule a wellness visit at 415-727-9116 or give us an email at [email protected]

You can leave Daly City in 60 degree fog and be in Walnut Creek an hour later where it can push 95 degrees. The Bay Area doesn't have one summer, it has about six of them.

That matters for your dog's feet. Pavement that was harmless at home can be scorching by the time you're across the bridge, so run the test wherever you actually are. Back of your hand on the ground. If you can't hold it, neither can they. 🐾

Grass instead of asphalt, early mornings and evenings instead of midday, and a quick paw check when you get home.
