We are thrilled to spotlight and welcome Dr. Tracy Wu-Woods, a dedicated veterinarian with a passion for exceptional patient care and a rich background in both emergency and general practice medicine to Penasquitos Pet Clinic. Dr. Wu-Woods has been a valued veterinarian with our hospitals since 2022.
Dr. Wu-Woods graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015, one of the nation’s leading veterinary programs. Following graduation, she completed a highly competitive, year-long internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Friendship Animal Hospital—a fast-paced emergency, specialty, and general practice hospital in Washington, D.C. This intensive training helped shape her strong clinical foundation and her commitment to providing gold-standard medical care.
After her internship, Dr. Wu-Woods returned to Philadelphia to work as a small animal emergency veterinarian, gaining extensive experience treating urgent and complex cases. She later transitioned into general practice, where she discovered her passion for forming long-term relationships with pets and their families.
Her professional interests include wellness and preventative medicine, internal medicine, and general soft tissue surgery. She is passionate about partnering with pet owners to keep their companions healthy, happy, and thriving at every life stage.
In 2019, life brought Dr. Wu-Woods to San Diego, when her husband, Daniel, accepted a new position. Together—with their two beloved cats, Barbara and Shemalee—they made the cross-country move and quickly fell in love with the West Coast. Since then, Dr. Wu-Woods has continued serving the dogs and cats of Southern California with compassion, skill, and a warm, approachable style.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Wu-Woods enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, decorating her home, watching movies, and spending quality time with friends. She also loves relaxing outdoors with Daniel—whether they’re hiking, golfing, visiting the beach, or simply soaking up the beauty of their new home in San Diego.
