To keep from slumping or slouching while riding...

"Imagine that you have an open parachute strapped to your back. The pull of the air into the parachute keeps your shoulder blades together and tall. This imagery will help you maintain your upper-body position as your horse moves underneath you." —Janie Rentz

SuperSam and I had a very educational lesson today with Lainey Ashker and really began to focus on teaching Sam how to jump out of a better balance and being more rideable off of my body versus my hands! My release in these photos really pleases me as it has been something I have also focused on with Sam. He is such a large horse and requires more release than some of my OTTBs in order to really be allowed to use himself over the fence without being pulled on.

Had a great dressage ride on SuperSam this morning, we worked on a lot of shoulder fore and shoulder in the encourage Sam to stay supple in his neck and shoulders and to engage the hind end! Also work on legs yields off the rail and to the rail with a change of bend, along with leg yield out and into an upward transition. Sam was fabulous and really moved off well! We are excited for the Carolina Horse Park War Horse Series in a couple of weeks! ❤️🎉

SuperSam was such a rockstar today!! 2 holes from the top of the standard and finally felt him JUMP!! Even though he's still barely trying!! Time to widen those oxers and bump up the course work! I've had a couple of blows to my confidence with the larger jumps this past year and Sam is just the horse to bring me back and push me out of my comfort zone again and to help me become a better, stronger rider and competitor! Love this horse! He is truly amazing!

Kiss My Assets is 16.1h 10yo OTTB dark bay mare. Kissy has schooled through training level and competed successfully at Beginner Novice. Kissy placed 4th out of 12 at the last Carolina Horse Park event in her BN division. Kissy is a very classical ride, very seat to hands and is soft in the bridle. This mare is a stellar athlete!! I believe she could easily go prelim! Bathes, clips, loads, good for farrier. Video available upon request, will only be sent if you are ready to come see the horse in person as well. Asking $6500 OBO, willing to consider a free lease to the right person. Edit** she does have some mild side bone on her two front patterns that has never bothered her. However, I do want to mention it for full disclosure.
