Sanctuary meet up!
Meet young Florian! Wee pulled him from a local shelter as a young baby and we quickly realized he was a Satin guinea pig. Sadly he could potentially present with symptoms of Satin Syndrome as he grows into adulthood.
We have made the decision he will stay in our rescue and has just got neutered in preparation for living within a sanctuary herd of guinea pig ladies.
He will be monitored carefully for concerning signs, Satin syndrom often presents with difficulty eating as it can affect the jaw bones. Suffice to say he will receive the best we can offer him for as long as we have him.
His good looks and gentle sweet nature does not make it hard to love this little guy. His foster mom is smitten but prepared for the journey ahead.
Did we mention what strong foster parents Wee has on hand? Loving unconditionally and knowing your time together may be cut short is not for the faint of heart.
Please send well wishes to Florian as he recovers from his surgery this weekend
