Meet Beau, our new foster boy 💛
Beau’s been through a lot, but none of it has taken away his joy or his sweet personality. He was born with a condition called Microphthalmia, which left him blind and caused constant infections and pain. This past April, he had surgery to remove both eyes so he could finally live a life free from discomfort.
During these last few months, while the rescue searched for an adopter or long-term foster, Beau was temporarily placed in boarding. Unfortunately, a boarding kennel can be incredibly stressful for a blind pup, and Beau started to get nervous. He developed a bit of “stranger danger,” so decided he’d benefit from staying with us. Providing a chance to build his confidence, learn better ways to navigate the world, and enjoy the comforts of a cozy home.
He’s been with us for just about two weeks, and we’re so proud of how far he’s come! He went from being terrified of us to becoming our new best friend. Beau loves to wrestle, play with his toys, and snuggle up as the best cuddle buddy. He gets around amazingly well using his nose and ears, proving that having no eyes doesn’t slow him down one bit.
In such a short time with us, Beau has begun learning that strangers aren’t so scary after all! We cannot wait to see him thrive in a home of his own; where he will bring an abundance of joy and happiness.
