Let your dog sleep in bed with you!!!! (If you want of course) 🤭

Or don’t. But I’d hate for you to think that kicking them out of bed is going to solve anything.

You actually have to target the underlying emotional response that they are feeling about being left alone.

How do you do that?

Stop letting them have negative experiences.

If every time they’re left alone it goes terribly you’re doing more harm than good.

Start showing them that being left alone is not scary!

This takes time. Going slow. Building up their comfort and tolerance at THEIR pace.

And that usually looks like starting with just a few seconds at a time.

Comment “GUIDE” and I’ll send you a free guide to learn more about steps you can take to get started.

1. Don’t wash their bedding for like a week before you move.

Let it marinate in all the comforting smells! Then don’t wash it for like a week after you get to your new place.

Dogs are hugely smell oriented so this makes a huge difference in them feeling comfortable in the new place.

This is not the time to get rid of their old beds and get new ones!

2. Do not leave them home alone right away in the new place. Let them acclimate and build a positive association first. You don’t want to bring on separation anxiety.

3. Prioritize rest and routine! Try to not have people over. Give them space and time to relax and rest fully.

4. Play. Bond. Train.

Training is about giving your dog the tools to actually thrive in your world.

Less stress when you leave = a better quality of life for both of you.

If you’re dealing with separation anxiety, I have a free guide that’s a good place to start.

Comment “GUIDE” and I’ll send it your way.

New life with Georgie part 2: training him to be comfortable with baths

Is your dog comfortable with baths?

03/16/2026

Life update. George and I moved across the country… and it didn’t go as planned.

But, things turned out great and this is only chapter one of our journey.

And now that we’re finally settled somewhere that feels like home again, I can get back to making dog life and training content.
