Most people think a crate is just for potty training and keeping your puppy from destroying the house while you’re gone. And yeah, it does that. But the real magic is the long game. Crate training teaches your dog the art of doing nothing. Without it, when you leave, their genes kick in and boredom turns into destruction—chewed shoes, dug-up yards, the works. But if you introduce it right and make it part of their daily rhythm, even using it while you’re home sometimes, something shifts. They learn to chill even when the house is busy. The crate becomes their safe space, their off switch. So when life gets loud or quiet, they know how to settle instead of spiraling. You can risk it, not get the biscuit and your dog break through the back screen door or stick to the crate for a bit longer.
