Slinky is a gentle, sweet 1-year-old who’s learning just how good life can be 🤍

After coming from the streets, she’s still adjusting to indoor life, but every day she’s growing more confident. Once she feels safe, she really enjoys gentle pets, calm attention, and is even okay being picked up. She loves toys and exploring at her own pace.

At the adoption center, she tends to hang out in her cage because it feels like her safe little space. But in a home, we know she’ll continue to open up, relax, and truly show her affectionate side.

🐱She also hasn’t gotten much interest yet, which is so surprising for such a sweet girl. Sometimes the quieter kitties just get overlooked, but she has so much love to give to the right person.

Slinky would do best in a calm, patient home with someone who understands that trust takes a little time. She’s the kind of cat whose bond will be incredibly special.

Our Earth Fest fundraiser at Fenway’s Runway was a success, and it’s all because of this incredible community. 🫶🏻

We had adoptable cats and kittens, pre-adoption sign-ups for our littlest babies, amazing local vendors, and a silent auction made possible by our generous sponsors. Because of all of you, we raised over $1,000 to support the cats in our care.

🐱Every dollar goes directly toward medical care, supplies, and helping us continue rescuing cats in need. This kind of support truly makes a difference.

Thank you to everyone who came out, donated, supported our vendors, and shared the event. And if you couldn’t make it, we’re so grateful to those who donated from afar. Special thank you to for donating their space!

305 days. That’s how long Viola has been waiting. ❤️‍🩹

She came out to our fundraiser yesterday… and still didn’t get a single application. We truly don’t understand how.

Viola is 5 years old and has so much love to give. She’s incredibly sweet, soft, and has the cutest little high-pitched meow. She loves to “dolphin” for pets and will happily soak up all the affection you’re willing to give.🥹

She’s been through a lot. Viola had all of her teeth removed and has a manageable skin condition that requires daily medication. It’s simple to keep up with, and she handles it like a champ. She also raised her kitten, who has already been adopted… now it’s her turn.

She gets along with cats, dogs, and respectful kids, and would make such a loving, easy companion. Like any cat, she appreciates when her boundaries are respected, but she’s truly a gentle, affectionate girl.🥰

Viola is one of our longest residents, and getting her into a forever home would not only change her life, but also open up a foster space so we can rescue another cat in need.

It’s a dog-friendly event, so bring your pup along and enjoy an afternoon supporting cat rescue. We’ll have local vendors, refreshments, giveaways, and a silent auction sponsored by local businesses.

😻We’ll have kittens available for pre-adoption as well as Viola, who can’t be place in an adoption center.

Kitten update for this weekend 🐾

We’ll have kittens available for pre-adoption at our Earth Fest fundraiser at Fenway’s Runway this Saturday, April 25 from 1–3 PM!

Mina, Eliza, Maria, Lavender, Licorice, Raya, Prim and Clyde 🐱

And joining as an honorary kitten for the day… Viola 💕 She’s had kittens of her own and is just as sweet. Viola is on daily skin medication, which means she can’t be placed in an adoption center, so this is a special chance to meet her.

The last photo is Maria. She tested positive for FeLV, so we had to separate her from her siblings to keep them safe, and she’s now pictured with her own little “punch” for company.

Cats attending are subject to change.

She’s been hanging out in her litter box at the adoption center… but it’s just because it feels safe to her right now. 🥹

Kestrel (2 years old) 🖤

The adoption center can be overwhelming, so she’s taking things at her own pace. But once she starts to feel comfortable, she’s a really sweet and affectionate girl who loves being held and snuggling.😍

She just needs a calm home and a little patience to let her come out of her shell. With the right person, she’s going to be such a loving companion.

She’s also there with her mom, Owl, and they can go home together if you’re looking for a pair 🤍

Her brothers already found their homes… now it’s her turn.

Viola and Pablo are still waiting 💔

They joined us at our adoption event at Noah’s Natural Pet Market today, but didn’t find their homes.

Meanwhile, Pepper did get adopted! 🥹 Congratulations to Pepper. We hope you spend all your days exactly where you belong… on someone’s lap.

Viola and Pablo will now be heading back to foster care since they can’t be placed in adoption centers. They’re both incredibly sweet, deserving cats who just need someone willing to take a chance on them outside of a store environment.

Pablo might look like he’s judging you… but don’t let the mean mug fool you.

🐱This boy was found as a stray in Logan Heights, and despite everything he’s been through, he is an absolute sweetie. He just needs a second to warm up. But once he decides you’re his person? Game over. He’s all over you. Following you around, asking for pets, hanging out like he’s always belonged there.

Pablo recently had 18 teeth extracted and is feeling so much better now. 🦷 He’s clearly making up for lost time with all the love. We’re still paying off his $2,300 vet bill, so if you’d like to help, you can donate at smittensrescue.org/donate.

He’s one of those cats who doesn’t show well in a busy adoption center, which makes it harder for him to get adopted. That’s exactly why we’re bringing him to this event.
