In vet tech school, learning how to respond to pet emergencies is an essential part of the journey. 🐾

Activated charcoal is one of the tools students may learn about when studying certain toxin ingestions in pets. When indicated by a veterinarian, it can help bind certain toxins in the gastrointestinal tract and reduce their absorption.

With PetVet Medic’s Activated Charcoal Syringe, we’re making it easier for pet parents and veterinary professionals to become familiar with the product and its intended use.

In this video, we walk you through how to use the syringe, step by step.

Important: Activated charcoal is not appropriate for every toxin or every situation. Never administer it without veterinary guidance, as improper administration can cause serious complications.

Save this video as an educational resource, and always consult your veterinarian in a pet emergency.

After years of using activated charcoal in the clinic, I got used to the mess.

Black powder everywhere.
On my hands. On the table. Sometimes on the pet.

But in those moments, my focus was never supposed to be the mess.

It was the pet in front of me.
The pet that needed my help.
The family that was scared and trusting us to do everything we could.

And I kept thinking…

There has to be a better way.

As a veterinarian, I wanted something I could feel confident reaching for in those critical moments — something designed around the realities of veterinary care.

So we created one.

Activated charcoal, now in a convenient 30 mL syringe.

Less mess. Easier dosing. More focus on what matters most — being prepared in an emergency .
