Meet little Chico šŸ’™

A new friend reached out to me this morning about this little guy. Sheā€™s been helping look after him ā€” heā€™s been hanging around someoneā€™s porch and theyā€™ve been doing what they can by giving him food and water, but unfortunately they canā€™t keep him.

I named him Chicoā€¦ he just looked like a Chico to me ā¤ļø

The streets of San Antonio are no place for a little guy like him. He deserves a soft bed, a safe place to land, and a family that will love him instead of surviving day to day outside.

Right now weā€™re trying to find Chico a home ā€” a real home where he can finally be safe and not have to worry about where his next meal is coming from.

Butter is safe thank God.

A rescue stepped up at the last

minute with a hold, and there was

also foster interest, so now there are

two possible paths forward for him. I

do admit I had a bit of a mental

breakdown at first when they would

not work with me. But Big thank you

to CC at ACS, and the other 2

women I ended up speaking with (I

don't remember their names, damn

ADHD) lol for helping with me with

the Butter situation. Thank you to

the rescue that stepped up and

thank you to the foster that stepped up too.

One thing I do want to say though - and l've said this a million times ā€” fake holds and people claiming dogs with no intention of following
hurts everybody!!! It really does.!! It makes it harder for shelter staff to trust the people who are genuinely trying to help and can slow things down for dogs that need real action. This is why I had such a hard time trying to get them to keep him the rest of the day because people do this and don't follow through and That really pi**es me off because it ruins it for the rest of us and get the dogs killed

It takes a village. Rescue, shelter staff, fosters, adopters, transport, advocates... everyone doing their part is how these dogs make it out.šŸ’™

This breaks my heart. He hasn't even gotten to be loved done by anybody and he's on the euthanasia list already someone please help him. If anyone's interested in adopting him out of state transport is available through Luckys legacy Rescue.šŸ˜­

If you canā€™t fosterā€¦ but you know how to drive a carā€¦ hereā€™s an idea for ya!! šŸš—šŸ¾

Iā€™m trying to think outside the box and come up with ways to make adoption more affordable and get more dogs out safely.

A lot of times there are little transport steps that add up ā€” picking a dog up from the shelter, bringing them to a foster or boarding location, taking them to the vet for their health certificate, or meeting the transport van.

If you can donate a little time and a car ride, you could save rescues money and help lower costs for adopters. You donā€™t have to open your home to make a huge impact.

And if youā€™ve adopted through Luckys Legacy Rescue before (or plan to in the future), this could be a really cool way to give back and help the next dog make the same journey home that yours did. šŸ¾

Please help me help them šŸ’™ Every little piece matters, and sometimes a simple ride is the reason a dog gets home.

Two-year-old Montana šŸ©·

I just had to stop and see this girl because she was crying so much. When I walked up to her kennel and saw the condition she was in, it honestly made me so sad.

But at the same timeā€¦ it made me really happy knowing someone saw her and said YES.

Not a lot of people are willing to step up for dogs with skin issues or medical needs. Unfortunately, a lot of dogs get overlooked because they arenā€™t ā€œperfectā€ at the moment. But dogs like Montana deserve a chance too.

It takes a special kind of person to look past the condition they came in with and see the dog underneath it all.

I wanted to share where Montana started and give a huge shoutout to whoever adopted this girl ā€” you are an absolute rockstar. Thank you for choosing the one that needed it most. I hope Montanaā€™s next chapter is full of healing, comfort, and being spoiled rotten. šŸ’™

One-year-old Staffy mix Penny šŸ©·

Oh my Godā€¦ this girl is TINY. Seeing her in person really puts it into perspective. She is the cutest little thing and honestlyā€¦ if I wasnā€™t fostering Blanco right now, this is one I would seriously be tempted to bring home myself.

Sheā€™s already a year old and I really donā€™t anticipate her getting much bigger. At first she was a little unsure and shy, but give her a minute and she absolutely blossoms. As you can see, once she warmed up she climbed right up and soaked up every bit of love she could get.

She is such a sweet, affectionate little girl. I couldā€™ve honestly sat in that kennel all day with her.

Someone please scoop this girl up ASAP. I have a feeling whoever adopts Penny is going to wonder how they ever lived without her. You definitely wonā€™t be sorry šŸ©·
