FREE pet vaccinations + microchip clinic this weekend, Saturday, September 5!

Time: 9 am to 11 am

*Please note, services are for City of San Antonio residents only*.

In partnership with Animal Defense League of Texas, Spay Neuter Network, Penny Paws and Protect Your Pet, we’ll be hosting FREE pet vaccination and microchipping events every weekend throughout SA.

For the most up-to-date clinic schedule, future event dates, hosting partner, and vaccines available at each location, please visit saacs.info/events before attending.

What to expect: Clinic services are available for City of San Antonio residents only. Limit to 100 pets served, 3 pets per household. All services are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Please bring a current picture ID for address verification.

For your pets: All canines must remain collared and on a leash or in an appropriate carrier. All felines must remain in a carrier, one adult per carrier or two kittens per carrier. Each eligible pet 12 weeks or older will receive a 1-year Rabies vaccine. DHPP vaccines will be provided for canines. FVRCP vaccines will be provided for felines. Each pet receiving services must be microchipped or will receive a microchip at time of service

Sweet Daisy is looking for her FOREVER FAMILY — or a foster and rescue willing to help her on her journey to finding one. 🏡🐶

Daisy is approximately 9 months old and 40 lbs. She’s a beautiful black-and-white girl with little speckles of brown, adorable pointy ears, and a sweet personality. ❤️

Daisy was found as a stray in San Antonio after approaching people for help. She was undernourished and thirsty, but despite everything, this sweet girl was friendly and trusting. Now she deserves the chance to know what it feels like to be safe, loved, and HOME.

🏡 We are looking for:
• A loving forever adopter
• A committed foster + rescue backing
• A rescue with available foster placement

🐾 FREE VACCINES AT THE SHELTER 🐾

Just a friendly reminder that HCAR offers free vaccines at the shelter to help keep pets in our community healthy, happy, and protected ❤️

Thanks to the generous support of Petco Love Grants, we are able to provide the following vaccines at no cost:

🐶 DHPP (dogs)
🐱 FVRCP (cats)

These vaccines are part of our ongoing commitment to supporting local pet owners and reducing preventable illness in dogs and cats.

Vaccines are available year-round at our shelter during normal business hours unless otherwise announced or directed.

If your pet could benefit, or if you know someone who may need this resource, please stop by the shelter or reach out to learn more. Together, we can help keep more pets healthy and thriving!

San Antonio, thank you to everyone who stepped up to help shelter pets today. But we are not out of the woods yet — and we still urgently need your help.

An emergency generator has brought the lights back on at Animal Care Services, but the impact of this weekend’s severe storms and lengthy power outage is still being felt.

The outage occurred during our busy summer season, when kennel space was already at critical capacity. We still have hundreds of pets in our shelter and urgently need more foster homes to help get dogs out of the shelter.

If you can open your home to a shelter dog for a couple of weeks, we need you.

🏠 A short-term foster can make an immediate difference

🚨 EMERGENCY FOSTERS NEEDED TODAY 🚨

Last night’s severe storms left our shelter without power, and our operations are heavily affected as we work to restore it.

We urgently need short-term foster heroes to help get dogs out of the shelter and into temporary homes for two weeks.

If you can open your home to a shelter pup, please come to San Antonio Animal Care Services as soon as possible. Every dog who leaves for foster care helps create more space and gives us greater flexibility during this emergency.
