CityVet Alamo Heights will be open for urgent care on Monday, September 7th (Labor Day) from 8-6. Important to have this handy just in case your dogs or cats get into something they're not supposed to get into! Our customers tell us that their normal urgent care is excellent (and less expensive than going to a regular emergency clinic!)

Cats are masters at hiding discomfort. It’s one of the reasons regular vet visits are so important — by the time many owners notice something is off, the issue has often been developing quietly for a while.
Today is National Bring Your Cat to the Vet Day, a good reminder to stay on top of check-ups, especially for senior cats. Early detection of things like kidney changes, dental disease, or thyroid issues can make a big difference in quality of life.
We’re here if you need support products or just want to talk through what your vet recommended. Your cats (and their quiet little ways) are lucky to have you looking out for them.

Texas heat doesn’t quit just because it’s late August ☀️
Before you head out with the dogs (or cats), do the 7-second pavement test. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.
Keep fresh water handy, stick to cooler times of day, and watch for signs they’re overheating. A little planning goes a long way this time of year.
