We were so saddened to hear of beautiful Muffy’s passing. She was actually Muffy the third, and we had groomed her since she was a baby. She was a beautiful, sweet Golden Retriever, and had such an infectious smile and a thumping tail to match.

The last time I groomed her, I knew it was probably her last. There was the muscle loss and large masses across her lower chest and abdomen. The brightness in her eyes was dimming. Yet, it still would reach in and touch your soul.

Muffy loved coming for her groom. Her mother would say, "You wanna go see Doug & Cathy?" Her swivel butt and tail would start pushing her to the front door.

I will miss this old girl. Even in her declining health, I could not get her to sit and relax on the grooming table. She knew her job and she did it well, until the end. God bless Gray & Max in their grieving.
Muffy, you brought us such joy. 💛💛💛

Although we no longer groom big dogs due to health reasons,we’ve been grooming Biscuit for his entire life, which means we’ve been grooming him for ten years. He has anxiety and an autoimmune disorder, so he’s a special boy!

This is little Whiskey River, who was born with a seizure disorder. Unfortunately, the blow dryer was one of her triggers, so we just let her head dry naturally. Her health is more important to us.

Baby Kobi’s first groom! He may look serious, but he is a sweetie pie! The key to training puppies to enjoy grooming is to start early, be patient, and make it fun!

We are sad that we have lost our beloved Meika, she has been with us every two weeks since she was a baby! I used to say “here comes Hurricane Meika” every other Wednesday for so many years! She was so strong willed and vocal! Very, very vocal! Of course, we HAD to play with her to get some of that energy out. We really loved that girl, and I think she loved us too.

This great advice has saved many a dog!

Lifesaving tip for when your dog swallows something sharp:

Not long ago, my dog accidentally swallowed a thumbtack during our walk. I panicked and called the vet right away. She told me that for sharp objects, it’s best not to induce vomiting as it could harm their esophagus on the way back up. Instead, it’s recommended to let it pass naturally. The vet advised me to feed my dog lots and lots of bread, ideally slathered in olive oil. This way, the thumbtack would hopefully get packed inside the bread and pass through her system safely!

I followed her advice, and my dog thought it was the best day ever (haha). The vet said to keep an eye on her behavior and ensure she was eating and drinking normally without any visible discomfort. It should pass within about 24 hours. Of course, if anything seemed off, I could take her to the vet immediately.

And sure enough, almost exactly 24 hours later, the thumbtack came out encased in her p**p! Here’s a picture of the thumbtack alongside the dog in question.

I just wanted to share this tip in case anyone finds themselves in a similar situation! Hope this helps.

TLDR: If your dog swallows a sharp object, feed them a ton of bread with olive oil right away.
