Helotes Humane Society Helotes Humane Society is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization incorporated in March of 2008. We are dedicated to "Finding a Home for Every One"

Our Adoption Program:
Helotes Humane Society operates a foster-based rescue and adoption program, so all of our animals for adoption are kept in approved foster homes, allowing our rescued pets a safe haven and home environment to learn and grow in while they await their forever home, providing both the animal and adopter a head start on the adjustment process. This also allows our adoption team to provide insight about each animal's personality, temperament, training, and more. Our Community Programs:
To learn more about the community programs we offer, as well as current grant-funded programs we are running, visit www.hhsanimals.org. Our Thrift Shop:
Second Chances Thrift Shop directly supports the Helotes Humane Society! Visit the shop's page for more info at www.facebook.com/Thrift4Animals.

Fostering a very young animal takes a special kind of person.
One who doesn't mind early morning and late night feedings.
One who carefully monitors weights and quantity of formula consumed.
One who isn't afraid of dirty faces and dirty behinds.
It's not because these people are immune to feeling sadness when their best efforts fail. They do.
Maybe they do it for the satisfaction of a job well done and the excitement they receive when those babies decide to eat solid food.
And for the joy they receive when that once fragile being finds a family.
But most likely they do it because they have an overwhelming compassion for the helpless and vulnerable lives that depend on them.
Thank you fosters.💞

💕 11 MONTHS OLD, SO MANY ADOPTION EVENTS… AND STILL WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO CHOOSE ME. 💔

Hi, I’m Sushi! 🍣🐾 And I’m wondering when it will finally be MY turn to go home.

My story started out a little sad. I was left on the streets without my kittens, but I didn’t let that stop me from showing love. I helped my friend Fiona raise her litter when she was very skinny and needed a little help. ❤️ Now that our kitten-raising days are behind us, it’s time for me to find a family of my very own!

✨ Here’s what my dream home looks like:
🪟 Sunny windows where I can watch the world go by.
🛋️ Comfy furniture where I can lounge like the queen I am.
💕 A human to follow around while they go about their day.
😻 Someone to talk to when they come home from earning money for my food. (I have plenty to say, you know!)

I got along with my friend Fiona when we had plenty of room to enjoy our own spaces, so I may be open to a feline friend with the right introduction and enough room to spread out. But no dogs, please! A girl has to have her standards. 😉

I’ve attended so many adoption events, watching other cats get noticed while I keep waiting. I’m only 11 months old, and I have so much love and companionship to offer. All I need is someone willing to look past the crowd and see ME. 🥹💗

Could you be the one who finally chooses Sushi? Please share my story and help me find the loving forever home I’ve been waiting for!

🐾 Adopt Sushi. Let it finally be her turn. 🐾
