In honor of Vet Tech Week, we are introducing a few more members of our amazing medical team!

Today we have veterinary assistant Yaya and licensed veterinary technician, Mary!

Yaya is the newest member of the team, but has jumped straight in and has become an amazing asset, always happy to help, learn, and grow in her knowledge of veterinary medicine!

Mary is a licensed veterinary technician and is always ready and willing to assist pets, their families, and the rest of staff here at VCA Henderson Pass.

We are so lucky to have them on our side 🐾💙

Samantha has always had a deep love for animals and a strong interest in medicine, making a career as a veterinary assistant the perfect fit. She takes great pride in being an advocate for her patients and is dedicated to helping them feel their best every day.

Angie is not only our technician supervisor, she is also a licensed veterinary technician herself! She is an amazing asset to our team because she encourages everyone to learn and enjoys sharing her knowledge, so every patient receives world-class care!

Megan is a great asset to our team, helping out wherever and whenever she can! She ensures all pets receive stellar, world-class love and care!

Becca is always happy to help out anywhere in the hospital, whether that is assisting clients at the front desk or assisting in the treatment area!

Today we are kicking off National Veterinary Technician Week!

Veterinary technicians wear many hats and are vital to the daily function of veterinary practices. They play a critical role in preserving animal health and providing the highest standard of veterinary medicine. National Veterinary Technician Week provides an opportunity to recognize their contribution, dedication, and tenacity! We are thankful for all of our hardworking and compassionate veterinary technicians. We couldn’t do this job without them!

Every surgery starts long before the first incision. It starts with a veterinary technician who has spent years mastering their skills, anticipating needs, monitoring vitals, and showing up fully prepared for every patient who comes through the door.

Vet techs are the heart of every OR team, and their skill and dedication make a difference every single day. At some VCA specialty hospitals, we take surgical collaboration even further. Some of our teams include Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) — professionals who earned specialized degrees specifically to support surgeons in the OR.

The result? Less time under anesthesia. Better outcomes. And a team that truly works as one. 💙

Because every patient is somebody's pet — and they deserve nothing less than the best.

Our pet's have many ways of showing us how they're feeling, and knowing how to interpret their body language is a big part of making sure we respect their boundaries! Knowing when your pet is enjoying an interaction and when to back off when they need space is an important part of being a pet owner!
