Black Emperor Tetras (Nematobrycon palmeri βBlackβ) are peaceful, active community fish that look especially striking in planted aquariums, where their dark coloration and blue-purple iridescence contrast beautifully with green plants. Keep them in groups of 6 or more, ideally in a 20-gallon+ aquarium with plenty of vegetation, driftwood, and open swimming space. They prefer gentle flow and slightly acidic to neutral water and readily accept quality flakes, pellets, frozen foods, and live foods such as bloodworms and baby brine shrimp. Their peaceful temperament makes them excellent tankmates for other small, community-friendly fish.
