The Blue-Eyed Lemon Pleco, most often sold as L144, is a tank bred variant of the common Bristlenose Pleco (Ancistrus sp.). It's a beautiful brilliant bright yellow with its trademark blue eyes. Sometimes they can be born with a random black spot.

Just like most other Ancistrus sp., it reaches a size of 4 to 5 inches fully grown and great for planted and community aquariums. Take caution with sword plants as plecos enjoy eating the leaves.

Care Instructions are as follows:

Temperament:
Bristlenose plecos are a peaceful fish. However males can be territorial with other plecos.

Lifespan:
Up to 10–12 years

Diet:
Omnivore/Scavenger. Bristlenose are grazing eaters. The like to eat all day and night. This pleco grazes on biofilm and soft algae. But absolutely should be fed directly. We like to use pellets, waffers, and french cut green beans. In our experience a piece of driftwood is a must to help with digestion.

Tank Size:
Minimum 20 gallons for a single pleco.

Temperature:
72°F to 82°F (22°C to 28°C). Our plecos are raised and kept at room temperature, around 74°F.

Water Parameters:
PH 6.5–7.5
Moderately soft to moderately hard.

As with all Bristlenose, males develop "bristles" on their face as they mature and can be aggressive toward other male plecos. Females may have bristles as well but very few and very small. These plecos reach sexual maturity around 2 to 2.5 inches in length.

They are heavy waste producers, so a heavily filtered tank and regular partial water changes are mandatory.

Thanks for watching
