🐾 A Wonderful Update on the Shih Tzu Family! 🐾

Many of you have been following Orphan Annie’s Neonatal Rescue and their efforts to help a group of Shih Tzus who tragically lost their family. A kind neighbor stepped in and did their best to care for them, but these little ones needed the help of rescue—and we are so happy to share some wonderful news!

Thanks to the incredible efforts of Victoria Turner, Orphan Annie’s Neonatal Rescue, and our amazing team of fosters, all of the Shih Tzus have now been safely removed from the heat and are officially in rescue! ❤️

We are incredibly grateful to have been able to be part of this rescue effort and help get these babies somewhere safe, cool, and comfortable where they can finally receive the care they need.

🐶 Meet the boys! These handsome little guys still have some work ahead of them. Each one will need to go through our veterinary screening process, receive the necessary medical care, and be neutered before becoming available for adoption.

Once they are cleared, they will be looking for loving forever homes of their very own!

So, all of you Shih Tzu lovers, get ready! We have a whole family of these adorable little guys who will soon be searching for some pretty fabulous families. 💕🐾

Sweet little George is still looking for his perfect home!

George once arrived as a stray, quietly finding his way into a backyard. Though his rescuers tried to keep him safe there, mending fences and doing their best to contain him, George’s heart was set on something more—and he always found a way out.

It wasn’t restlessness, but longing. George isn’t meant for life outdoors; he longs to be inside, surrounded by love. He dreams of curling up beside you, sharing your bed, and resting contentedly in your lap as a true member of the family.

With his temporary family, George has flourished. He no longer tries to escape, having found comfort and companionship indoors. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative—completely ready for his next chapter.

All George needs now is a forever home where he will be cherished, not just as a pet, but as family.

UPDATE: ROMAN HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

Meet Roman!

Roman’s journey to rescue began when he was found running in and out of traffic, putting himself in serious danger. Thankfully, a kindhearted woman stopped to help and brought him straight to a veterinarian to make sure he wasn’t injured and to check for a microchip.

Roman was not microchipped, was unneutered, and despite efforts to locate his family through social media and other lost-and-found resources, no one came forward to claim him.

His rescuer wanted to keep him safe but knew her farm, with several large dogs, wasn’t the right environment for a little Dachshund. Knowing Mini Wonders Adoptions has a special place in our hearts for Dachshunds, she reached out to ask if we could help—and of course, we said yes!

Roman has now been fully vetted. He has been examined by our veterinarian, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworms. He is healthy, happy, and ready to start the next chapter of his life.

Now all Roman needs is a loving forever home with someone who understands the Dachshund breed and is committed to giving him the love, patience, and care he deserves. He longs to be a cherished member of a family and can’t wait to find the people he can call his own.

Meet Jack!

Jack came from an accidental litter when his owners realized they were unable to properly care for the puppies and reached out for rescue assistance. Mini Wonders Adoptions stepped in to give Jack and his siblings the opportunity to find loving forever homes. Jack's mom is a tiny Shih Tzu, and his dad is a Chihuahua. As part of our commitment to preventing future accidental litters, both parents have now been spayed and neutered. Jack and his siblings have received complete veterinary care, including a full exam, spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipping. Jack is now healthy, happy, and ready to begin the next chapter of his life with a family who will love and cherish him forever. Meet Marge!

Marge’s story began when she wandered into a family’s front yard in Lytle, looking for help. The kind family who found her soon discovered she was pregnant and took her in to keep her safe. Not long after, Marge gave birth to a single puppy, whom we lovingly named Bart. Bart is now 7 weeks old and thriving!

Marge has been a wonderful mother, but she’s officially retired from motherhood and won’t be having any more puppies. Thanks to the care of her rescuers and the support of Mini Wonders Adoptions, Marge has received all the veterinary care she needs. She has been spayed, tested heartworm negative, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Marge is a cheerful, affectionate little dog who loves being around people and is ready to start the next chapter of her life. After everything she’s been through, she deserves a loving family and a place to call her own.

Meet Bart!

MAISEY AND SPROCKET HAVE BEEN ADOPTED TOGETHER!

Meet Maisey and Sprocket!

Maisey and Sprocket are ready to leave their past behind them and finally experience the love and security they have always deserved. They were originally kept for breeding and spent much of their lives living outdoors with very little care or attention. Neglected and underweight, Maisey and Sprocket weren’t given the life every dog should have. Fortunately, a kind-hearted Dachshund lover noticed their situation and stepped in to help. She welcomed Maisey and Sprocket into her home, gave them the care they desperately needed, and then reached out to Mini Wonders Adoptions to help them find the loving forever families they deserve. Today, Maisey and Sprocket are healthy, although still a little under weight, they have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to start a brand-new chapter. They have come a long way and are looking for a family that will treat them as cherished members of the household. They deserve a warm bed, plenty of affection, and a lifetime of love. If you're looking for a couple of sweet little Dachshunds with gentle hearts and a bright future ahead of them, Maisey and Sprocket may be the perfect pair for you.

Bonnie came to us as an owner surrender when her mom, a hardworking night-shift nurse, realized she could no longer give Bonnie the time and attention she deserves. Working long 12-hour overnight shifts meant Bonnie was spending too much time kenneled, which made this active little girl unhappy. Wanting the very best for her, her mom made the difficult but loving decision to help Bonnie find a family that could give her the life she deserves. Bonnie is a social, affectionate girl who absolutely loves going for walks, meeting new people, and spending quality time with her humans. She does well with other dogs overall, though she can be a little protective of her food. Bonnie also isn't the biggest fan of grooming, but with patience and reassurance she will tolerate it just fine. Bonnie is full of personality - a sweet and sassy little girl who simply wants to be loved and included as part of the family. She is looking for a home where she can enjoy adventures, companionship, and plenty of cuddle time.

Meet Jack, Janet, and Chrissy!

These adorable puppies came to us from an accidental litter after their owners reached out to Mini Wonders Adoptions for help. We agreed to assist under one important condition: that both mom and dad would be spayed and neutered to prevent future accidental litters. We’re happy to share that they followed through! Mom, a tiny Shih Tzu, and dad, a playful Chihuahua, have both been spayed and neutered.

Now it’s these three sweet puppies’ turn to find loving forever homes. At 9 weeks old, Jack, Janet, and Chrissy have been examined by our veterinarian, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. They are healthy, happy, and ready to begin their next chapter with families who will love them for the rest of their lives.

Located in San Antonio

Peppa came to us with 5 puppies that were only 4 weeks old. 3 of the puppies were a deep, rich chocolate color and were adopted as soon as they were old enough to be vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Momma Peppa and her two black babies were left behind. They have been with the rescue for almost a year. Peppa is such a sweet girl. She loves everyone she meets! The boys Dan and Bill are shy around strangers because they have never known anyone outside the rescue. They are looking for someone who is willing to look past their color and give them a chance to live the life they deserve!
