We submitted our application for the Utah Jazz Small Business Spotlight this summer, with 300 incredible other small businesses applying across Utah, we knew standing out wasn’t going to be easy.

So, we did what we always do—we sat down as a family and put our hearts into showing what makes Healthy Pets Mountain West truly special.
And guess what? They saw us! We were chosen as a finalist, and got the opportunity to tour the Delta Center before the award ceremony.

Walking into the Delta Center alongside eight other amazing local businesses was an unforgettable experience. While we didn’t take home the top win, the memories and connections we made meant so much to us! We are so grateful to have been seen, thank you Utah Jazz for this incredible experience!

As a woman-owned, family-run shop, we’re no strangers to hard work. But the biggest lesson from all of this? We are nothing without our community. You show up for us, support local, and make Healthy Pets Mountain West what it is today.
Grateful for this journey, our amazing team, and every single one of you who chooses to shop local. The best is yet to come! ✨

We love Treats to the Rescues treats! Made with clean real ingredients, a treat your pups could happily crunch on all day!

🐾❤️ MEET OUR OCTOBER DONATION RECIPIENT! ❤️🐾

This month, Treats to the Rescues is heading west! We are incredibly proud to introduce our October donation recipient, Paws For Life in Heber City, Utah!

Paws for Life Utah works to give at-risk animals the second chances they deserve through rescue, foster care, medical care, spay/neuter services, vaccinations, microchipping and, ultimately, loving homes.

And just look at the impact they are making:

🐾 In 2024 alone, 882 animals entered their program and 864 were placed into loving homes, resulting in an incredible 98% live-release rate.

Throughout October, 10% of our profits will be donated to Paws for Life Utah to help them continue this lifesaving work. ❤️

📍 AND WE HAVE SOME GREAT NEWS FOR OUR UTAH PUP PARENTS!

Things I wish I knew as a first-time raw feeder. 🐶⬇️

1. It is nowhere near as messy or intimidating as people make it out to be once you establish a clean prep routine.

2. A 14 lb bag actually fits easily in a standard kitchen freezer without needing a dedicated deep freezer.

3. You do not have to go completely all-or-nothing, because adding fresh raw food to a kibble base still offers massive benefits.

4. The natural energy boost and playfulness showed up almost immediately once the switch was made.

5. The reduction in daily shedding and the overall softness of their coat took me completely by surprise.

6. Smaller, firmer, and practically odorless backyard cleanups make daily scoop duty dramatically easier.

Large breed puppies have big paws to grow into, and how they grow matters just as much as how fast! 🐾 See our tips below for what to look for and feed your big baby! 🐶🥣✨

🐾 Look for the Label: Flip the bag over. Make sure it says for all life stages, including large breed puppy growth. (AAFCO Statement: Make sure the bag explicitly reads "for All Life Stages including the growth of large-size dogs.)

🐾 Bone & Joint Safety: Big pups grow too fast for regular food. A careful calcium balance keeps growing bones strong and protected.

🐾 Brain & Eye Support: Real, fresh food protects delicate DHA, an essential healthy fat that supports sharp brains and good vision.
