Hello, my name is Rainy. I'm a very gentle petite girl who is looking for my forever home. I was trapped with my sister, Zindy, when we were just kittens and for awhile, I wasn't sure if humans were good or not. I've figured that out but Zindy is still very wary but if you can catch her, she will purr for pets. I on the other will politely wait for love and attention. I have the most darling round little face and beautiful eyes. It would be nice to have Zindy adopted with me but we know that's a big ask and, honestly, both of us are friends with the other cats in our foster home. I've never been around a dog or very small children. I will need a calm, gentle cat sibling or two to be in a cuddle puddle for nap time, etc. It will most likely take me a bit of time to trust my new humans completely but I'm definitely worth the effort. If you are interested in meeting or adopting a CAWS cat, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/cat-adoption-application/. Adult (1 thru 10 years): Single $75 or Pair $100.

Rainy the cat is a medium, female, domestic short hair, who is 4 years 0 months old.

Meet Mufasa, a gentle and laid-back boy who gets along great with kids, other cats, and gentle dogs! He loves to show you his belly, and always wants to be near you. While he loves a good game with wand toys, this plump fellow is a bit on the lazy side and is looking for a dedicated human to help him shed a few extra pounds. If you want a sweet, adaptable companion for your family who just needs a little help on his health journey, Mufasa is ready to be your loyal king. CAT SEEKING CAT!! This stunning looking girl is searching for a home that will admire her beauty and give her the time and space she needs to feel safe. Princess Sour Patch has had a rough go at life. She was found as a feral kitten at the Slackwater Brewery in Sandy. She was sick with multiple ailments, but after lots of time, patience and TLC, she has a clean bill of health! Princess Sour Patch has perfected the art of the “highly annoyed, couldn’t be bothered” facial expressions. She is happiest mean mugging you from the top of her cat tower while you tend to her litter box. She is very silly and loves to stretch out on her back with her belly and feet sticking out in the air. She does take some time getting used to new cats, but once adjusted she loves to play, cuddle and socialize. Princess Sour Patch does not bite, but she may add a hiss or two if she is upset. But that’s nothing a Churro won’t fix! After 6 months in her foster home she has started showing affection to her foster mommas, but still prefers to show off and be told how cute she is from afar. She needs to be adopted into a home with another cat. She prefers older cats, but adjusts well to kittens with time. She does not have any experience with kids or dogs and I do not believe she would do well with them. Can you provide a quiet, safe home for this deserving girl?

UPDATE. We have turned off comments on this post as it's now lost it's direction which was to educate and bring attention to these situations that are happening.

All rescues have been overwhelmed and overextended, the long standing ones can acknowledge their mistakes and make changes for the sake of the animals they are trying to help and themselves.

The kittens pictured are from a Tooele County colony/caregiver where a "rescue" has been taking kittens from them for the past 2 years and has NOT TNRed ONE CAT. NOT ONE.

Now this colony is over 30 (with 3 more litters' just within the last month) These cats are thin, sickly, & suffering while adding to the enormous number of already unwanted cats in this area.
**This colony is well on its way to finally being contained with 18 cats TNRed, plans in motion for the 3 litters and the 5ish remaining adults to be placed and TNRed within the next 4-6 weeks. (last night's storm squashed trapping)

This is not the only "rescue" or individuals who may or may not be a rescue or associated with a local rescue, it happens everywhere.
If you "rescue" Please ASK FOR HELP and know your limitations.

This is NOT ok!! Spaying and neutering these cats is the only way to get some level of progress in this crisis, and help these cats live better lives.

Also TNR appointments are available!! Many go unfilled daily between the multiple facilities who offer them.

You are likely not getting an appointment panic calling or showing up to these facilities last minute or the morning of because there was no planning or communication before any trapping commenced.
If you evaluate, plan, & communicate BEFORE any traps are set TNR and colony containment are possible.

***Great post FROM PDX CAT TRAPPER PAGE.
Ethical TNR means fixing all the cats, including the adults, not just taking kittens.
We run into this a lot. Unethical rescue groups constantly scoop kittens from locations and tell the residents they don't have s/n appointments for the adults, don't have time to trap, etc. Frustrating, to say the least.
Our team was out in Oregon City this morning with a goal of 17 cats for s/n appointments tomorrow. A different local "rescue" has been out here for THREE YEARS getting kittens, maybe fixing 1-2 adults per year. We are putting a stop to this nonsense, and 17 cats are getting TNRd plus a left behind pet will be diverted into rescue.
If you are working with an organization helping you with cats, make sure they are using ethical practices and spaying/neutering all the cats and not just taking kittens leaving the cycle to continue. If you are a group wanting to rescue kittens and can't/won't TNR, partner with someone who will, so these locations can be closed.
Better lives ahead for this group with no hormones and breeding!
