❤️ It's National Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week, and here at VCA Cottonwood, we're celebrating our techs and tech assistants with gifts, food, and most of all, our undying gratitude for the time, blood, sweat, and tears they pour into caring for our patients and supporting our doctors.
Much of what they do goes unseen, but these are the faces caring for your pets as they recover from procedures, giving them love and attention in the middle of the night, and making sure they're safe, comfortable, and well-tended to for every minute they're here with us.
Without these amazing people, VCA Cottonwood would simply be unable to exist. We're so grateful for everything they do, every single day. Help us celebrate our incredible veterinary technicians and assistants this week! 🐾❤️
We will be spotlighting more of these shining stars throughout the week, keep your eyes peeled! 👀

This National Veterinary Technician Week, we're celebrating the incredible Associates who make our hospitals thrive — like Karen, who began as a CSR and never stopped growing and like Joanne, who sought mentorship and support to obtain her VTNE.

At VCA, we're proud to champion our veterinary technicians every step of the way — offering mentorship, encouragement, and the resources to help you reach your full potential.

To every vet tech in our VCA family: thank you. What you do matters deeply — to our teams, to our patients, and to the pet owners who trust us with their most beloved companions.

Every surgery starts long before the first incision. It starts with a veterinary technician who has spent years mastering their skills, anticipating needs, monitoring vitals, and showing up fully prepared for every patient who comes through the door.

Vet techs are the heart of every OR team, and their skill and dedication make a difference every single day. At some VCA specialty hospitals, we take surgical collaboration even further. Some of our teams include Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) — professionals who earned specialized degrees specifically to support surgeons in the OR.

The result? Less time under anesthesia. Better outcomes. And a team that truly works as one. 💙

Because every patient is somebody's pet — and they deserve nothing less than the best.

🖤 October is Black Cat Awareness Month! 🐈‍🖤

Black cats are just as loving, playful, silly, and deserving of a forever home as any other cat. Yet they’re sometimes overlooked in shelters because of outdated myths and superstitions.

This month, we’re celebrating our beautiful black cats and reminding everyone to look past the color of their fur and get to know the amazing personality underneath. 🖤

Thinking about adding a cat to your family? Don’t overlook the black ones—they may just be your perfect match. 🐾

✅ Keep vaccinations current: Ensure your dogs, cats, and ferrets are up to date on their rabies shots.
✅ Avoid unfamiliar wildlife: Keep a safe distance from wild or stray animals.
✅ Spread the word: Remind your friends and neighbors to vaccinate their pets, too!
