Three important reminders. One big message: our dogs are counting on us. ❤️

🩺 Pain Awareness Month
Dogs can’t tell us when something hurts, so we have to learn to listen to the subtle changes in behavior, movement, appetite, and mood.

🦮 National Service Dog Month
Working dogs have an incredible job. Give them space, respect their focus, and remember: a service dog is working, even when they look like the cutest dog you’ve ever seen. 🐕‍🦺

🏡 Responsible Dog Ownership Month
Being a responsible dog parent means more than food and vet visits. It means training, enrichment, exercise, socialization, safety, and building a relationship based on trust.

Healthy dogs. Respected working dogs. Responsible humans.
That’s a September worth celebrating. 🐾❤️

POV: You’re a dog trainer taking a cute video of your dogs after a really good walk… 🐕🐕

Heel work? ✔️
Nice engagement? ✔️
Transitioned into a beautiful loose-leash walk? ✔️
Feeling pretty proud of ourselves? ✔️

So naturally… let’s take a video to capture this moment. 📹

And then… DOG. 👀🐕

One of mine reacts before I can even get there.

Yep. Dog trainers have dogs who react too. 😂

We train. We practice. We manage the environment. We reinforce the behaviors we want. And sometimes, despite all of that, our dogs have a moment.

The goal isn’t a dog who never reacts.
The goal is a dog who can learn, recover, and keep moving forward.

Real dogs. Real life. Real training. ❤️🐾

Today we celebrate the muddy paws, goofy zoomies, wet-nose kisses, couch snuggles, and all the little moments that make life with dogs so much better. ❤️

Give your dog an extra treat, an extra adventure, and approximately 47 extra belly rubs today. 😂🐶

I choose cue every time.

Because your dog isn’t a robot waiting for you to press the right button. 🐕💭

A cue gives your dog information:
👉 “This is what I’m asking you to do.”

A command can imply:
❌ “You HAVE to do it.”

My goal isn’t obedience through pressure. It’s teaching your dog to understand, choose, and succeed.

When your dog hears “sit,” “come,” or “place,” I want them thinking:

“I know what that means!” 🧠🐾

That’s why language matters in dog training.
We’re not just teaching behaviors. We’re building communication.

Train the dog in front of you.
Speak their language. 🐶

Happy National Collie Day! 🐾❤️

Today we’re celebrating one of the most loyal, intelligent, and beautiful breeds around… and what better way than featuring my handsome client, Ryder!

With that stunning coat, bright expression, and heart of gold, Ryder is everything we love about Collies. Beyond their beauty, Collies are known for their incredible intelligence, gentle nature, and eagerness to learn, making them wonderful family companions and training partners.

Watching Ryder grow in confidence and skills has been an absolute joy. Here’s to celebrating this amazing breed and all the Collies who make our lives a little brighter every single day.
