🥶 EXTREME COLD WARNING – Rowan & Davie Counties

An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for Rowan and Davie Counties from 7 PM Saturday through 10 AM Sunday.

What to expect:
• Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 5° below zero
• Life-threatening cold if proper precautions are not taken

Impacts:
• Frostbite and hypothermia can occur quickly if skin is exposed
• Pets and livestock are at serious risk if left outdoors
• Increased risk of frozen or burst water pipes

Safety reminders:
• Dress in layers, including a hat, face covering, and gloves
• Bring pets indoors and provide adequate shelter for livestock
• Allow faucets to drip or wrap exposed pipes
• Check on elderly family, friends, and neighbors
• Use space heaters safely
• Never use generators or grills indoors

This is dangerous cold. Please take this seriously and plan ahead.
